Blank products page

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5.4

Hi,

Recently upgraded both Hikashop and Joomla with one major glitch: Products won't display when clicked from category listing. I've checked both my settings and searched the forum without luck.

Any help is appreciated!

I tried a few things and still can't get the product pages to show up.

I tried creating another menu item for products listing -- they all show up fine -- but when I click on the product link to take me to the product details nothing shows up -- the address bar shows the product name but the Joomla component doesn't load.

If I create a menu item for a specific product, the component loads with the product,

I'm baffled!

Hi,

When you have a blank page it's generally a PHP fatal error.
Please check your PHP error log or change temporally your "error reporting" to maximum in your Joomla global configuration.

Hi Jerome,

I have turned error reporting to maximum -- but don't see any errors. I also ran a database fix and purged my cache.

The page isn't exactly blank -- when I click on a product from the product listing page, the body of the page doesn't load. I have only the header and footer. See screen shot attached.

I have one more piece of info. I found this line in the error log repeated over the last few days:

Hi,

The issue don't seem to be related on the given error message.
It looks more like an issue with the sef.

Could you try to disable it in the Joomla configuration for testing purposes ?
Are you using the canonical urls ?

Hi All,

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried turning off sef urls but it made no difference -- the product page still did not load. I then tried reinstalling Hikashop but again, the product page would not load.

I have a working version of the site on another host in a sub directory for testing purposes -- so I will move that one to the live host and see if it breaks. I still have no answers as to why the live site stopped working in the first place so I am a little apprehensive.

I'll keep you posted.

Hi,

I've looked at your settings and everything is fine HikaShop. I've also looked at the logs and not errors happen.
So the issue didn't seem to come from HikaShop.
So I've switched your template to the "protostar" template briefly in the Joomla templates manager and refreshed the product page and then I could see the product page content (minus the modules of course since they are assigned to different position names for your template). So the issue seems to come from the template discarding the main area of the page on product pages.
Please contact your template developer so that they can look into it. It's probably something with the setup of the template but not knowing how it works I can't say what.

Thank you for helping me track down the issue. I restored a working version of the site from my testing server and it seems to be fine now.
