-- HikaShop version -- : Starter 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 3.36
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 35.0.1

I can't see where I am going wrong as I have used the same settings as in another site where the categories and products are all showing in 3 columns. I want to show the categories and products in a 3 column format. I have attached a grab of the menu admin page. Any help would be much appreciated as I have spent a few hours now trying to work it out.

Hi,

With the current settings you should have the categories listed in one columns as the parameter "Number of columns" is set to "1" in the category part and 3 columns for the products.
So you have to change the value of number of columns in the category part.

Thanks for your quick reply to my query. I have changed the value from 1 to 3 as you suggest in the number of columns parameter but I still only see one column on the website. I am also seeing the products below the categories the categories page and not listed in the appropriate category. I have attached another screen grab to show my alteration. Can you see where I am going wrong please?

Help please!!! I am pulling my hair our and have spent hours trying to figure out how to configure the categories and products pages correctly. I really can't see where I am going wrong. I have used a blank template rather than my default template as I thought this may be causing the problem but I get the same view. I am attaching a grab of the categories and products listing menu I am using. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Hikashop in the hope I could follow the initial configuration smart startup again but it didn't show up so I had to configure the menu myself again. I want to show a grid with my categories and then click on each category to show the products in a grid. I have done this before but in a Joomla 1.7 installation and it was great. I've spent two days now trying over and over to try different options but it just shows up the same.

Many thanks

The issue is coming part from how you configured HikaShop and part from your template.
You turned on the "use bootstrap design" option of the HikaShop configuration but that option should only be activated if your template is compatible with bootstrap.
Turn off that option and you'll get back several columns in your listings.

Thank you sooo much. I still can't see how I'm getting both categories and products on the categories page though.

I'm sorry to ask for help again but hope that from here I will be fine and that when my site is established I can move on to the upgrade.

Sue

Sorry I didn't explain my problem very clearly. When I go to the menu page for my category (on my webisite this is called Shop) I also see the products I have added within the categories. How do I just make the products appear when I click on the appropriate category.

Many thanks for your patience.

Hi,

Edit the module with the id 136 via the menu Display>Content modules and make sure that the "sub element filter" option is set to "direct sub elements" and that the "synchronise with ...." option is turned on.
If that's already the case, then it would mean that the products are linked to the main category which you don't want if you don't want them to appear on the main listing.
