I have a test product set up on my website and have a couple of characteristics set up for it. On one characteristic, it shows "Remote Support? Yes (+ $5.00) or No". If the customer chooses Yes for the additional $5.00, how does it add the $5.00 on top of the cost?

Sorry if it was unclear. This is what I mean...

On the product page, I have an item listed at $99.99. I created a characteristic as shown in the attachment above which asks the customer if they wish to pay an additional $5 for remote support. Is it possible to have this characteristic automatically add the $5 to the total or would it be easier to create a product for the remote support which the customer can add that to the cart as well?

Hi,

Just to be clear, this more looks like an option than a characteristic. ;)
So when using the options like that the option can be added to the cart as a "stand alone" product or it can be attached to the main product, this way when removing the main product, the option is removed from the cart too.

In your case, I think that it's better to enable the option "Group options with product" in Configuration > Main > Cart.

My problem is that I am using options but it seems to only allow for a single decision. For example, if I select the main product and add one option it adds this to the cart correctly, However, if I then decide I want to add another additional option it adds the main product all over again. It does this if I select "stand alone" or not.
?????

Hi,

I'm afraid that I don't see what you are trying to perform with your product and his options.
I hope that the example from our demo website will help you to understand how the product is attached to his options.

Hi Jerome,
Here is an example of my problem using your demo.
If the customer orders a laptop with a number of selected options but forgets to order the mouse, (which is also an option). How do they go back and order the mouse without duplicating the order?
See attachment for screen shot of order page.

I am trying to build a site for Pizza Owners...very often a customer will want to return to the product and add an additional topping... so I need to be able to have them do this without ordering a whole new pizza. I am also building a site to sell the websites and running into the same problem ...when the customer selects what features they want included on their site, if they go back and add another...the whole order duplicates.

Hope there is some sort of fix for this.
Thanks,
crn

Hi,

There is no screenshot in your message.
If the customer orders a laptop with a number of selected options but forgets to order the mouse, he can just delete the product from his cart and then re add it again with the mouse.
Is that a problem ?

It seems that what you want, from what I understand in your examples, is to be able to modify the selected options of a product while it is in the cart. In that case, there is no setting for that.
It would require customizing the "cart" file of the "checkout" view to add such capability.

Is Hika Shop planning on adding this customization?

Hi,

Not in the short term as we are busy already with other things but giving that possibility in the future is something we would like to do.
