Cannot Upload Category Picture

Last night i tried to create a new category but i was unable to upload a image for this category. After a few attempts i stumbled upon my category display with the message ''Warning ! The image gemstones_geoworld.jpg is too big to be processed because of the memory limitation on your server. Either use a smaller image or increase the memory_limit parameter of the php.ini of your server.'' This message is still there : www.georld.com/index.php/store Then i tried to re size the picture and upload it but when i click on Categories (this happens only with categories) check attachment.
Why is that and how can i fix it ?

I found and deleted the picture through FTP.
