Hello,

I am having issues with incorrect page titles. The page title set on the main category listing page is being used for each individual category page. For example, I have set the page heading for the main HikaShop menu item to "Training Material Providers". This works, but when I navigate to a single category page, instead of the category name being used as the page heading, the page heading from the main HikaShop menu item is being used. What do I need to do to fix this issue? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Go in the menu Display>Content menus and turn off the "Use menu name instead of category name for the title" setting.

Hello,

I have made the configuration change, but the issue is still occurring. Cache has been cleared after changing the configuration. I have attached a screenshot that shows the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Then I guess that the issue is with the caching on your website.
Please make sure that you never cache the breadcrumb module. Otherwise, it will always display the same thing.
Try to turn off the caching completely from the website and see if that helps.
If yes, then it comes from the caching on the breadcrumbs module.
If not, then it's something else and we would need an access to the website in order to check your settings.

Hello,

Caching is not enabled on the website right now because it is under development. The issue is not with the breadcrumbs module, the issue is with the HikaShop page titles. The breadcrumbs module displays the correct category name, but the page title is incorrect. "Training Material Providers" should be "Delmar-Cengage/Nelson Education". HikaShop is carrying the "Training Material Providers" title over from the main book store page to all of the category pages. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi,

Then I don't see any other thing than the "Use menu name instead of category name for the title" setting which is not configured properly for the menu.
So I would think that you're not editing the correct menu or something like that.
If you could provide a backend access, we could have a quick look to check the settings of your menu.
In that case, please use our contact form and provide a link to this thread:

Hello,

I have partially figured out the issue. I have removed the "Page Heading" text from the Joomla menu item configuration settings, but left "Show Page Heading" set to "Yes". This change allows for the Brand/Category names to be displayed in the page titles, but this change allows removed the ability to set the page heading for the parent menu item. When I removed the "Page Heading" text, the page title changed to "Manufacturer". How can I have the parent menu item use a user defined page heading, but then leave the brands to use their names for the page heading? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks you.

Hi,

I suppose that the "Manufacturer" text is the name of the main category of your categories.
So go in your categories listing, click on the "root" link so that you can see your main categories and edit that manufacturer category in order to change its name to what you want for the page title and that should do it.
