Hello,

I have setup a random products module. The module displayed items on the category listing page, but I do not want it to display on the category pages, instead I want it to display on the individual product pages. How do I adjust the settings to achieve this? Also, the module is being displayed twice on the individual product pages. What settings need to be adjusted to fix this issue? Thanks.

Hi,

You want to use the extension "Advanced Modules Manager" in order to be able to assign modules for the page types/categories you want because the default Joomla modules manager doesn't allow for such fine grained setup of modules.

Hello,

Thank for the suggestion. I have installed the Advance Module Manager and it should provide the functionality I am needing.

Hello,

I installed the Advanced Module Manager and it is working for some assignments in HikaShop, but not all. I have set the random products module to only display on product pages. This is working, but another module called 'Associated products listing for manufacturer listing menu 191', which I assume is automatically generated by HikaShop, is set to be excluded on the following selection types: categories listing, products listings and product page. When I go with this option, all of the content from the HikaShop component disappears from the brand/category pages. Product pages are not affected. This seems odd that everything would disappear if I am only adjusting the modules parameters. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hi,

This modules were generated automatically in HikaShop versions before 2.6.0, they were allowing to display a product listing on a category / brand listing menu. So if it is excluded from categories listings, you can't have any products displayed on a brand listing menu.

So I think that you have to edit these settings. In the newest version of HikaShop we no more use these associated modules, all the settings are directly in the Joomla Menu options. So this is potentially easiest to setup advanced module manager.

Hello,

I understand the changes you have made, but when I try and replicate the module settings using the menu item, they do not match up. Under Categories Options > Data display and Product Options > Data display, there is no parameter for Type of content. Is this what controls the content that is displayed on a specific menu item? What changes do I need to make to the menu item in order content to be displayed?

It's normal that you don't have the "type of content" setting anymore.
The type of the menu item handles that now.
So when you edit your menu item, in the main tab you can change the type of the menu item. If you select a hikashop products listing you'll get a products listing. If you select a hikashop categories listing, you'll get a categories listing.
Thus, the "type of content" is not necessary anymore.

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification. I have the random/related products module set to display only on individual product pages. This is what I want, but with this assignment selection, the product listing pages for each brand/category are blank and the main category page is also blank, with no rendered HikaShop content. If I assign the random/related products module to these pages, all of the content is rendered. What adjustments do I need to make to fix this issue? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

It looks like a problem with the settings of your menu item.
Could you provide screenshots of the settings of your category listing menu item ?

Hi,

Thanks for the screenshots but I'm afraid that I don't understand the issue you're facing.
I take a look at the private URL you gave and I can see some content but I don't visualize what is the issue when you have the non randomize listing.

Hello,

The content was showing because I had re-enabled the module on the category and product listing page types. When I disable the module on those page types, all of the content disappears. I will leave it disabled until you can have a look.

Hi,

Thanks ; you can re-enable it.

But I do not understand anything in your message content regarding the previous messages.

1/ You're talking about a module. But we're dealing with a category listing menu..
So what module are you talking about ?

2/ When you disable what you have disable, the page content is fully empty.
We can see the javascript inclusion and some inline CSS for the menu but there is no HikaShop content at all. No container, no footer.. And there is no inclusion of the HikaShop CSS file.

What I can suggest you is to unpublish that menu and create a new one from scratch.

Hello,

Re #1
- Yes, I am talking about a module, but only because the online store was started using HikaShop 2.4. Now that I am using 2.6, you say the menus handle most, if not all of the page display options. I am using the HikaShop content module to display two random items from the parent product brand on the individual product pages. This is the only page type that I want the module to be displayed on. If I set these parameters using the Advanced Module Manager, the component does not load content on the main category or the brand page types. This is odd behaviour and I not sure why it is happening.

Re #2
- I have unpublished the existing store menu item and have created a new one, but the same issues are occurring.

Hello,

I have tried deleting the existing HikaShop category item completely, then recreating it, but this has had no effect. I tried deleting all of the legacy associated menu modules, but this has failed to fix the problem. I tried disabling all of my category overrides, but again this has failed to fix the problem. I am at a loss as to why HikaShop is not working for me when I want to display a category or product listing using the menu items. I can provide admin and FTP access for diagnosing purposes. Please reply and let me know where to send the information. Thank you.

Hello again,

I would also like to add that the registration and checkout pages are not displaying anything. Individual product pages seem to be the only pages that render with content, everything else is blank. This is starting to become a major annoyance. Please help.

Hi,

Do you have solved your issue ? I just went on your website and everything seems to be working fine.
If not, we fixed some issues related on the new menu / module system recently.
Please try to download and install the latest HikaShop version from our website and test.
