Is there somewhere in the backend where I can fill in the buying information for an item so when an item is low on stock the information to order replacements is on the product admin page

Hi,

What is "low on stock" for you ? 0, 2, 10 ?
What is the "product admin page" ? The product edition page ?
How about configuring the "out of stock plugin" of HikaShop (Business edition only) via the Joomla plugins manager so that you automatically receive an email with the products low on stock every day or so ?

Hi Nicholas

Thank you for the reply, I think I wasn't very clear last time so will try again.

When the stock runs out someone in our admin needs to buy in replacements of that item. To do this they need to know what they are ordering and from who (e.g. a screwdriver from screwdriverland.co.uk, part number 12345). so is there the facility on the product page shown in the attached image or somewhere else in hikashop to write this buying specification information? that is only visible in the backend, not visible to people using the shop

For example added to the page in the attached image

1. a box to fill in who is the vendor/supplier
2. a box to fill in the vendors contact information (e.g. email address, phone number)
3. a box to fill in the description of the item for when ordering from vendor
4. a box to enter the vendors part number for the item
5. a box for additional notes. (E.g any discount we should get when purchasing, or any minimum order quantity requirements)

If this is not currently possible in hikashop is it something that could be implemented, if not can you advise how I might edit my own installation to add this facility.

Many Thanks

Martyn

Hi,

Sure, you can create custom fields of the table "product" via the menu Display>Custom fields in order to add those boxes.
As long as you don't turn on the "frontend" setting of the fields, they won't display on the frontend and thus it will just be information for yourself on the backend.
