Hi

I have a question regarding images for different variations of a product.

I have a t-shirt as a test product. This t-shirt has 2 colours (black and red) and each of these colours comes in 5 sizes (small, medium, large, x-large, xx-large)

I originally used a older version of HikaShop for testing and in the older version I created the product and then added the colour Characteristics first. I then went into each option within the colour Characteristics (red & black) and changed the image for each colour. So the black colour was given a image showing a black t-shirt and the red colour was given a image of a red t-shirt.

Once the images for each colour has been set I would then add the size Characteristics which then automatically created 5 sizes for each colour. So if for example I looked at the large red t-shirt it would show a image of a red t-shirt and this would be the same for each size of the red t-shirt and vice versa for the black. I didn't have to go into each size and add a image as each size for the black colour already had the correct image and the same for each size in the red colour.

Now with the new version of HikaShop (2.5.0) I cannot see anyway in which to add a image to a colour and the only way I can add a image is to manually do so for each colour and size so in the example I described above this would mean I would have to enter 10 variations and set the image for each (x2 colours / x5 sizes per colour).

This seems odd that the updated version of HikaShop would remove the ability in which to add a relevant image to each colour and then when the sizes were added for each colour the correct image would already be set.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way v2.5.0 of HikaShop now works you need to add a image to each colour / size variation. If this is the case it's not good because a further issue arises when I go into a particular variation say Black / Large and set the image and save as soon as I press the save button instead of taking me back to the variations screen (where the variations for the product are listed) it takes me back to the main product screen (where the product name, description, price etc) which means I then need to click on the variations tab again to select the next variation I need to add a image to which is incredibly annoying and time wasting.

I surely must be doing something wrong as I can't imagine why it would be like this because it's very awkward if is.

If someone could please reply I would appreciate it.

I would email since I am meant to have a support subscription but for some reason no one is replying to emails today with other questions I have asked so thought I would post the issue here and at least any replies which solves the issue can be seen by others too.

Thanks

Robert

I think I have solved this issue myself.

It's still not allowing me to set the image for each colour of the t-shirt en masse but I have worked out the fastest way to do it.

Once you have created your product and selected whatever Characteristics you want in the specifications box on the product creation page. Go to the variations tab and add the various versions of your product.

Once you have all the variations listed. Check all the check boxes beside each product and then click on the edit button for each and select the image. Keep doing this until all images have been set for each checked box variation and then hit save.

Sorry I probably haven't explained myself very well but please see the image attached to this post for a better understanding of what I mean.

Thanks

Rab

Hi,

What I would do in your case is create one variant for each color for one size. Then, set the image for each variant.
Then, use the checkboxes to select all the variants and click on the duplicate button in order to duplicate the variants for the other sizes.
