Warranty extension to add as products options and

My client want to let users choose the possibility to buy a warranty extension (example 5 year warranty instead of 2 years) as a product option or even other services as installation of the product.
he wants to add those options as check box in the product page. We need to choose which category of product should be applied those options.

So you can create option products, add them only to the desired products as explained in that documentation:

This will by default display the option selection as a dropdown, so you will have to edit the view "product / option" in order to change the selection from a dropdown to a checkbox, some php knowledges are required.
