-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.4

I have configured several main categories and each has sub-categories.
Each product has preferred url that when displaying the product is shown in the breadcrumb. This address in product configuration is empty.
In the configuration I set Force canonical URLs on listings-> Use canonical URLs and generate the if is missing.
In the product can enter the category tree or from the homepage where the product overview.
If you enter the category tree path is displayed and recorded correctly.
If you enter from the main page, is the path I get depending on how I set in the module (id menu) - the path is not correct, because it does not show subcategories. And stores do not properly.
What procedure should be applied to the system saved the correct path taking into account the categories and subcategories?

Hi,

There is nothing else to do. As long as you set a canonical URL in the product/category and that you turn on the setting "Force canonical URLs on listings", the canonical URL will be used everywhere.
If it's not, it's either that you have some cache activated preventing you from seeing the change, or that the view layout displaying the link comes from an old version of HikaShop where canonical URLs were not supported and in that case the problem comes from the template view overrides.

I give an example:
We go from the homepage to the product, using the module in which the ID setting menu:
example 1
Look at breadcrumb.

Second example - enter through the tree category:
example 2
Look now on the path of return - they are different.
The idea is to always like the second example.

Hi,

As I said, you need to enter the URL you want (the second one in that case) in the "canonical URL" setting of your product.
Then, that URL will be used for both links going to the product page and you'll always get the breadcrumb you want.

Navigating the store with thousands of products is very important. That's why I care about right bradcrumb.
Entering manually Canonical URL - up to several thousands of products probably not a good idea.
Is it possible to automatically save the correct URL? What does the "USE canonical URLs and generate if it missing"?

Hi,

That option sets automatically the canonical URL for you. It just gets the first valid URL to a product that is possible and put it there so that you get that same URL everywhere.
So it's possible to automatically fill the canonical URL of all your products like that.
However, it's not possible to fill in the "correct" URL (i.e. the one your prefer) in there as the system cannot guess which one you prefer. That's why there is a "canonical URL" you can modify so that you can change it if necessary in order to better suits your needs.
