-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.syren.net/en/bodyscan-security-websh...nner-strong-receiver
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.0
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.28

I made some new categories and renamed some categories. Since then I have a problem. When using the search option searching for code V107 it gives 1 result. The URL to go is www.syren.net/en/bodyscan-security-websh...nner-strong-receiver but it gives a 404 error.

The right URL is www.syren.net/en/visitors-security/bodys...nner-strong-receiver

Untill my changes the name of the category was Bodyscan Security. I added -webshop to the alias because there was (not anymore) an menu-item already with alias bodyscan-security.

I renamed the category Bodyscan Security to Visitors Security and added the subcategory Bodyscanners.

This problem only seems to happen when using the search option. Do I / need I clear some specific search cache to solve this? I already cleared the normal cache....

Hi,

I think that your issue is related on the canonical urls. Please check in the product edition pages if you have an url set for the "Canonical url" setting. If it is, so you have to replace it, or you can too change the value of the option "Force canonical URLs on listings" in Configuration > Features > SEF urls.

At the product description ( not edition :P ) page of this specific product there was indeed a canonical URL specified. No idea how it came there. Removing it solved the problem. But now I'm afraid there might be some other products with the same problem. Is it safe, easy and smart to use a bulk action to get all the product fields with the canonical URL emptied? If so, how should I do that?

Yes. You can do that via the System>Mass actions menu with a mass action with an action "update the values" on the "product_canonical" field without any value for it. Just press the "process" button and that will do it.
