Hell, I am very new in Hikashop and I really like the component better than Virtuemart. I am learning for two days now and saw some amazing good videos on youtube.

I filled the webshop with some content and trying to show the categories on the homepafe just like your demo site:

I am trying for hours now and read all the possible answers but I don't know why my categories are not shoing up on the homepage. I really don't know anymore, so I hope to have an good answer from anybody here.

In the main menu I made the name webshop 2 and select category, but still not showing nothing although I put four categories. I hope somebody help me out. Please not only tell me to read the information again because I already did this for over 5 times now.

Hi,

There are several ways to do that.
First, you can just create a new instance of the hikashop content module via the Joomla modules manager and assign it to your homepage menu.
Or you can create a new menu item of the type HikaShop categories listing via the Joomla menu manager and select it as default menu item of your website.

Many thanks for the answer. I don't know how but it's working a little. What I want is exactyly the same view you have on your demo site. So the view in the four square boxes and when you click on it you have new choices forman/woman/kids or else. After that you see the products. I want the exact layout. So if you click on the shoos it's getting bigger and the text color changes. Also the boxes with the black beam on top. Is there a way to see how you guys smade this, many thanks!!

The principle of the system (listing of categories and then products when you click on one) is possible with a menu item, as explained before.
Regarding the image and text getting bigger and changing, that could from the styling of the joomla template we're using on the demo website.
It's the JSN Glass Pro template: www.joomlashine.com/joomla-templates/jsn...emplate-details.html

I have looked through the forum for help with this but I have not found what I am looking for. :( :(

I am trying to add a Shop description at the beginning of my shop page on my site.
I can do this sort of thing in Joomla using Blog layout and having a lead article or by showing the contents of the Category page.

However I can not see how to do this is Hikashop. I would like to put a paragraph of text at the top of my shop page describing the purpose of the items I am selling, i.e.

The items below are available to purchase to aid in the sustainability etc etc

Can any one help?
Thanks in advance :) :)
