help with the four different Conanical URL’s

Hello Hikashop Supportteam,

I need your help with the four different Conanical URL’s given to my products. I need the canonical URL with webshop/producten inside and not with component/Hikashop inside. Because when you visit a URL with component/Hikashop inside you can’t see the shoppingcart on the left sidebar. Also for our SEO is webshop/producten the best URL.

Here are some examples of the different URL’s.

WRONG: domain.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop...&category_pathway=22

WRONG: https://domain..com/component/hikashop/product/120-Country_Grey

WRONG: https://domain..com/en/component/hikashop/product/461-Stancil_Bell_Flowers_copy1600617966_copy556125297_copy1567061845

GOOD: https://domain..com/webshop/producten/product/420-wall-paint-aubusson-blue

I have delete the canonical URL’s ‘with the mass action’ like you wrote in the forum. When I checked all the URL’s they got all a number 0 into the canonical field. So far so good! After visiting the product in the frond-end, this product gets the right/good canonical URL with webshop/producten in it, but the next day, the products I didn’t visit get all a wrong canonical URL. And for some unknown reason some with index.php?option=com………etc.

So I think the only solution is to visit all the product before Google or another search engine will visit our website. But I think this is not the most beautiful solution, is there another way to do this?

I have Hikashop 2.6.0 set (Force canonical URLs on listings = Use canonical URL if specified)

Hi,

Please install these two attached plugins, they will update the current mass action plugins and add an action which allow to update the canonical urls.

This language string can be added in the override part of the language file in Configuration > Languages:

HK_SET_CANONICAL="Set canonical url"

https://domain.com/webshop/producten/product/{product_id}-{product_alias}
