Sorting product by manufacturer

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.5
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.45
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 42.0

My client wants the products display ordered by manufacturer. I've found the way to do this through the menu options sort field 'product_manufacturer_id'.

But my question is: is there a possibility to change the ID of a manufacturer? Because they are already made and we want to change the order. And we also want to be able, when new manufacturers are created later, to place them were we want.

Hi,

No it is not possible to do so.

The best solution I see if you really want to perform such kind of sorting on "product_manufacturer_id" is switch manufacturers.
Using mass action, you can change all products for the manufacturer "X" to the manufacturer "Y".
So, you can move manufacturer X to "1", then manufacturer Y to X and finally, "1" to manufacturer X.

Ok. I used another way.
- Changed the ID through the phpMyAdmin.
- And exported the products to CSV through the backend of the site. Also changed it there and then imported it.
