Category Display Page Help

I am having problems with some of the categories and the way products are displayed, when i try changing them from the menu and "category options" and "product options", none of the changes i make ever take effect
i try chaning the image size, the type of display...etc but nothing changes.

some of the products display ok, and then there are other pages where there are black spaces in between some of the items...like this page, third row down ( wolfhomeny.com/index.php/dining-chairs )


I keep seeing this error message when i go into to edit the menus:
"Warning
You have an override on the view 'category / listing' so the settings under the tab 'Product Options' will potentially not be used. Please backup your modifications and delete the override."

that message show up on all the menus though, and some of them are fine so i'm not sure thats the problem or what is.
