Remove "product" from URL

-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.greenbaobab.ru/shop
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.8

Hi,

i would like to remove the word "product" from URL. So to have:
/shop/ecobeauty/hair/SheaJojobaHairTreatment instead of
/shop/ecobeauty/hair/product/SheaJojobaHairTreatment

If i leave the field empty in Configuration -> SEF URL, and canonical URL of the product as /shop/ecobeauty/hair/SheaJojobaHairTreatment -- i have error 404.

If there is any chance to have URL as i wish.

Hi,

Once you have changed the SEF settings, the best is to clean your product canonical URLs.
Otherwise, the canonical URLs would be wrong (outdated).
You can use a mass-action to do so.

Hi Jerome,

This is exactly what i am doing:
1. remove "product" in SEF URL


2. change product's canonical URL, as i want it to be

3. check it on the website - not found


what is wrong?

Hi,

What if you use /shop/sheajojobahairmask as canonical URL after changing that setting. Does it work ?
What about with /shop/ecobeauty/sheajojobahairmask ?

Hi,

with empty SEF URL, both - 404, not found

Nothing work, except getting "product" back in SEF URL and canonical URL. Seems that there is no way to escape "product" in product's URL
