number of items on a page

Hi,
For some reason I cannot seem to be able to change the number of products displayed on a page to more then 10.

I've been searching for any hidden setting that I must have missed but no luck until now.
Normally I would say that it's in the setting of the menu but that's not changing the magical nr 10...

Any tips are greately appreciated.

That worked, but there is something strange with the value that is shown here.

I've filled the field with "50" and saved the menu-item again.
When checking the frontend it shows 50 items, perfect.

After revisiting the menu-item, it show 17 ?
I think this is where I got lost.
So it's fine for me because it's working.
But maybe for the benefit of everybody else it's usefull to explain how the value of 17 is getting there in stead of the "50" that I expected?
