-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.8
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.14
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error message.

Hi,

Since yesterday every new product I create turns a 404. Strange enough new products do show in product lists and search results but when clicked the product page gives a 404. To my best knowledge I did not change any settings in the config of Hikashop so I am wondering why this happens.

With debug On and errorreporting set to max. I don't get any error messages.

Hello,

The trouble can be from several points, and sowe need to see it by ourself.
And so, can you provide a link in order to process tests?

Hello,

I create a product test (in Hedges category) and this product was added to the linked category, and when clicked on the link, I succeed to see the product page, see the screenshot :

In the other hand, I'm quite surprise by the way your website works... I see some test product you create, but which aren't displayed in linked categories!!?... I noticed you have a lot of plugins AND lots of override view.

Maybe some of your troubles come from this two points.

Please if the issue remains thank to give a us a link WITH a no worked product page link.

Can tell you more for now.

Regards,

Hi Philip,

Thank you for taking a look at it.
The products with problems are only visible for superusers. You should be able to see them in the frontend when you log in as superuser. You do have superuser access. If you look at the screenshot you see a module with 'latest added products'.
'Pancakes' and 'Test' are the products that give the 404. Try them and you'll see.
'MonPotd' is the one you added....and it shows OK.
'Testing 2' is a product I added 5 minutes ago. Strange enough that one does show OK as well.
I'm puzzled.

For your concern regarding the override views. Thomas (LousyFool) helped me with the website. I am still thankful for that. You can be assured they where created by a very experienced user ;o)

About products not shown.....I use a membership system. Many products are only visible for members. There's a heavy use of ACL on products. If you are not logged in as a member you do not see them all.

For the plugins. How can I investigate if one of those are causing this? Still strange that some new products do show and others not.

Thanks

Sjaak

Well Philip,

It is getting weirder.
I kept on trying. I have 2 computers that I use. One moment I discovered that only products created on one computer ended up with 404's. Products I created on the other computer showed OK. Normally I use Firefox as a browser. I decided to use Chrome on the 'wrong' computer and by then products I created also showed OK.
So It had to do with Firefox on one computer. I tried everything; deleting history, cookies, temp files, restart. Nothing worked.
In the end I uninstalled firefox from the 'wrong' computer. rebooted the computer and reïnstalled firefox.

Now I can create products again with that computer and with firefox.

Problem solved, Cause unknown.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Best regards

Hi,

From what I can see the issue is with the canonical URL that you entered in your product which is not correct.
Remove it and it should work.
