Cannot Delete "Related Products" from products

I duplicated some products and create a category for Wholesale. I know I could have used the same products and simply added a wholesale pricing to them, but my client and I have our reasons for creating separate wholesale products.

In any case, Some of these products had "related Products" that I need to delete because they no longer apply to the wholesale version of the products.

I manually deleted the Related Products, but what I saw when I did that is that was that the oval button with the X on it indeed disappeared, but below it there was another identical button without the X.
When I closed and opened the product again, the Related Products" were back again.

So I exported the product to a CSV and deleted them there. Unfortunately, it didn't work. When I imported the products back, one of the changes I made (alias) worked fine, but the related products were still there.

I am not sure what to do to delete them. Is it maybe a function of the products being copies of existing products? Is there something else I should do to make sure these related products are gone?

Sorry it took me so long to reply. This issue is still outstanding. I was able to fix it on some products by doing an export, change the "Related products" and then importing the products back. BUt there are products where I don't want any associated products and those I have not found a way to delete, since if I leave the cell empty, the pre-existing "Related products" remain in the product.

As you can see, the X goes away, but the product remains.

When I save the product after deletion of the related products, regardless of the action I took (delete all, ddelte only one, etc) all of them return back as if I had done nothing





It's clear something is going wrong, but I cannot imagine what. I have built a few carts with Hikashop and I have never seen this. This cart is also very lightly customized. I have done very little to it.

That's a good idea. I'll clone the site on another server and try it. I have encountered some weird behavior from the import at times and since this is a live store, even 10 minutes off line could mean a couple of lost sales.
