My orrot category disappeared

-- Joomla version -- : 3.5
-- PHP version -- : 5

Hi,
I had to erase a category that was acting funny, I erased it and now I can't access my category modifications no more : When I click on products/categories it gives me a blank page. The rest of the back office and the front site seem ok.
What happened?

Hi
I was hoping the situation would get back to normal with the end of the session but it didn't.
Please help, I don't know what to do, the balnk page happens on
/administrator/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&filter_id=product
Is there a way of forcing the reconstruction without getting to the category page?

Hi,

You can run the rebuild process by directly accessing that URL:
/administrator/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&task=rebuild
If that doesn't help, turn on the "error reporting" setting of the HikaShop configuration and you'll get an error message on that blank page which will allow us to better understand the situation.

Hi Nicolas,
Nothing works : The url gives me an "Error : access denied" eventhough I am logged in.
The error reporting on me joomla global config is blank also.
I even disabled the "Use AJAX when possible..." just in case, nothing does it.

Hi,

Go in your PHPMyAdmin and open the hikashop_category table. Make sure that you have an entry there with the namekey and type "root" and the category_parent_id set to 0. Make sure that you have an entry with the namekey and the type "product" and the category_parent_id set to the category_id of the root entry. Make sure that the other entries are under that category entry or below in the category tree. Then, access the URL /administrator/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&task=rebuild in your backend and that will fix the categories explorer.

Done this all.
I still get an access denied.
This is driving me nuts.

Hi,

I think we didn't go in the correct direction.
The problem is apparently not about the category database structure, which looks ok in your screenshots.
The problem is that without the error message on the blank page, we're hitting in the dark.
If the website doesn't display error messages even though the error reporting of the Joomla configuration is activated, you'll have to get the error message from the PHP error log of your web server.
So please search for that fatal error message in there.
If you don't know how to access the PHP error log, you can ask your hosting company.
The error message will greatly help in understanding where the problem comes from.
