-- url of the page with the problem -- : i-webdesigner.co.uk/what-s-the-cost/prod...age-brochure-website
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5.1
-- PHP version -- : 7.0
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : All
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Product not found

Hi,

I have moved a website from the testing server to its live site. I set the SEF url to generate the features, which works fine on most products.

But if the product has a number prefix (1, 2, 3 etc), it is inserting the letter p in the link from the category to the product (see the page example above). Remove the "p" and the page is fine.

Any product that does not have a number is fine as well.

Please can you tell me how to avoid this problem.

I should also mention that I have another problem with characteristics, but i will deal with that in a separate question.

Best wishes

Hi,

That's because you removed the products and categories ids from the URLs and thus in order to not interpret the 1 as the id of the product, it prefixes it with a "p". If it didn't, you would see the product page of the product with the id 1 when you would click on the link.
Just make sure that the alias of the product doesn't start with a number and it won't get prefixed with that p letter.

Hi Nicholas,

Thank you for letting me know this. I had not realised this would happen. Is this in the documentation somewhere?

Best wishes

Hi,

Yes, it's mentioned in the description of that option, which is turned off by default:

Remove products and categories id in URLs : When that option is activated, the id of the products and categories in the SEF URLs generated will be removed. Note that when you activate it, the previous URLs with the ids still work. The downfall of that backward compatibility is that you can't have a number at the beginning of the alias of your products/categories or the system will look for another product when clicking on the link.
