Custom Item field on Category and/or product

Hi,

I have set up a drop down custom field for items.

If I assign this to a category it will display for all the products in that category. But if I also assign the same field to a product in another category, this will remove the field from all the products in the original category.

Is there something I can do to get the field to display in the specific categories I choose as well as individual products I choose?

Unfortunately I have quite a bit of custom coding in this current build, so updating hikashop to the newer version won't really be an option. I did a fresh install of the latest hikashop 2.6.3 on a clean site and ran into the same issue.

Hi,

Yes indeed, you can only have one restriction, on a category or on a product.

So creating a second custom field for the individual product could be an option but not really friendly.
If you have this case for many custom fields it will be hard to manage.

A solution could be to create a specific cateegory, a not displayed on frontend one and add it to all the desired products and then restrict the custom field on this category.
