-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.veggievore.com/advice/half-hour-custom-consult
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5.1
-- PHP version -- : 7.0.6
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error. Just not remembering where the product view configuration is located.

I know you showed this to me once before but I am not finding it in my tickets.

I want to change the layout for the following page:
www.veggievore.com/advice/half-hour-custom-consult

I would like to make it use the same layout as this page:

www.veggievore.com/dvd/why-we-do-what-we-do

I believe it was some option that I was able to access from the menu item but I am not finding it.

Sorry that I am not remembering!

Hello Sean,

Your first link is a product listing and the second one is a product page, your issue is that when you click on a product from your product listing, you're redirected to the same page. It can be coming from many things like cache/SEF issues so firstly, can you try it :
- Without any SEF option and module
- With the cache disabled and cleared

Thank you.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have turned off the plugin cache and also the global configuration cache. I do not have any SEF modules or components.

The problem I seem to be having is that I am not even able to find access to the "HikaShop Options" as described on the following page:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/2...splay-front-end.html

I remember those options well from when I first set up the shopping cart. The image I attached shows where I was expecting to find the HikaShop Options link.

I am a bit puzzled by the difference between a product listing and a product page. But, it is certainly a product page that I am wanting. I have set up both menu items as the product page type.

I do have the parent page as a Products Listing page but I do that for our DVDs as well and there I am able to get proper Product Pages for the menu items.

Examples:
Product Listings: www.veggievore.com/dvd
Product Page: www.veggievore.com/dvd/diabetes-in-retreat

I am trying to do the same here:
Product Listings: www.veggievore.com/advice
Product Page: www.veggievore.com/advice/one-hour-custom-coaching-consultation

It is that last product page that is not working for me. Any more ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Sean

Hi,

There is no such option at the menu item level.
There is a "layout on product page" setting in each category and in each product.
So that's where you want to look I guess.

I guess I am really missing something. I am not able to find the "Layout on Product Page" in the Categories or in the Product Pages. Perhaps there is something causing a conflict with HikaShop?

I also have installed HikaShop on another site and I am having the same problems at that site as well.

I remember well when I set up this stores originally that I was able to find pages that then allowed me a LOT of settings and control over the layouts. But, that is completely evading me now, even four days into the search.

Can you please let me know if you see something wrong with my HikaShop installation or a possible conflict?

Thanks, Sean

That option has to be there:

Yes, those options are there. I have the exact same settings for different products but am not able to get the exact same layouts.

You had mentioned that one was using the

Your first link is a product listing and the second one is a product page

So, this is a page that is displaying correctly:

www.veggievore.com/dvd/why-we-do-what-we-do

The Product Page settings under DISPLAY are as follows:

Page layout: Default
Quantity input: Inherit

Parent Category (Indivdual) settings under Additional information:

Layout on product page: Inherit
Quantity input method: inherit

The page that is NOT displaying correctly appears to have the exact same settings as follows:

www.veggievore.com/advice/half-hour-cust...oaching-consultation

The Product Page settings under DISPLAY are as follows:

Page layout: Default
Quantity input: Inherit

Parent Category (Advice) settings under Additional information:

Layout on product page: Inherit
Quantity input method: inherit

So, the puzzle that I don't seem to be able to unravel is why the pages are displaying with a different template or layout?

I do use the Joomla Global Configuration Site Settings SEO Settings as

Search Engine Friendly URLs: Yes.

I am wondering if maybe there are problems with HikaShop and the SEO settings in Joomla? That does not seem likely to be the problem since one set of products (DVDS) uses the correct layout and the other set of products (Advice) does not,.

Hi,

No, it's not linked to the SEF. If you get a different layout, it's either that you configured a different layout in the product, or that you have custom code in the view files which forces that different layout in the file "show" of the view "product".

But are you sure that you're using a different layout for both pages ? I had a look at the HTML of both pages and as far as I can see, it's the exact same layout. The only difference is the product description content.
If you take the description of one of the products and set it in the other, you'll get the same result I would wager.

Nicolas,

You were right. I was using the correct layout. The problem was caused by the <H2> tags in my html somehow. Probably an issue with my template. But, it was not caused by HikaShop.

Thank you for helping me!
