Assigning Modules to Product Pages

Hi, Im not sure if this is related to hikershop or joomla itself, but here goes..

- I make a menu button / product listing page (e.g. PROD1) , all good.
- I have modules serving adverts - all good.

- if I dont assign the advert module to menu item (PROD1), then it doesnt show up on any product page selected via that product listing page either,
when I do assign it to the menu, it does show up after the click through to a product.

I don't see any way to NOT assign the advert module to the main menu product listing but have adverts show up on the actual individual product pages, is tha even possible ?

I was thinking more of the sidebar, but is fine now, I linked to the menu instead of producing category display pages.
