Variant combo appearing when it doesn't exist (II)

This is a follow up on our previous ticket "Variant combo appearing when it doesn't exist"

As I understand it, a variance will appear in the product's drop menu values if a single instance of it is available, no matter what combination of variances it has.

So, in our case; we sell water coolers; white and black, with or without covers (white or black covers in this case). We want to buyer to have to choice to add a cover or not but only the appropriate color. In other words, we don't want the white cover value to appear if the previous choice is a black water cooler ... and vice versa.

If we delete the variance in the product admin, it still appears as a variance combo. I've tried deleting it, unpublishing it or not even creating it. It's always there ...

I think it would good for the select menus to be dynamically rendered/filled on selection of a parent option/variance, no ?
