CATEGORIES - REBUILD (AUTOMATE)

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.4
-- Joomla version -- : 3.6.2
-- PHP version -- : 1.7.0

Hi,

How can I either automate the running of the Categories - Rebuild or trigger it to run remotely from outside of the website?

Still having problems with categories getting messed up (especially on delete) so need to keep rebuilding them.

Hi,

You could do that with a cron task.

For example, you could install that plugin and configure it to auto log your own server to the backend with its IP address:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extensi...access/auto-login-ip
And then, configure a cron task on your server to call the URL:

http://www.yourwebsite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&task=rebuild

I get error 403 - Access Forbidden when I try that URL.

Hi,

The Joomla administration is secured ; that is why Nicolas gave you a tip in order to be automatically login.
Otherwise, any call in the backend will be refused (because it need a login), like you have with your 403 answer.

The other solution would be to create a cron plugin to perform the category rebuild.
