Hi, I am struggling to set up the downloadable product for the client.

Firstly, for some reason the image appears really tiny, no matter what I adjust and change different files.

Also, is there a way to not display any quantity selection tools? with downloadable file there should be no need to select quantity.
What tools are available in Hikashop to manage image licences? Can we make download links to be only single use?

Thank you in advance,

Giedre

Hello,

Firstly, for some reason the image appears really tiny, no matter what I adjust and change different files.

=> Hard to tell without more details, maybe a template issue, maybe HikaShop configuration, or else...
You can try to switch to a default template like Protostar to see if that solve this size issue.
If not, provide an Url link in order to have a look on this, and I hope more to tell.

Also, is there a way to not display any quantity selection tools?

=> Yes, in product backend configuration in Display part :

What tools are available in Hikashop to manage image licences?

=> What do you mean by images licenses ?

Can we make download links to be only single use?

=> Yes, in Components => HikaSHop => Configuration, go to Files part :
You will be able to define how many time AND on what period customer will be able to download.

Hope this will help you, awaiting details from you for your unsolved issue.

Regards

Thanks for your detailed reply, Philp!

Great support is one of major reasons why I love Hikashop and recommend it to my colleagues and clients.

I have resolved those that I could, and here are more details and questions regarding digital product set up.

My digital products category is set up from a copy of prints that work well, but for some reason digital images appear tiny. Not sure where i missed a setting ( details to website are further down).

How do I set up digital products that would not require shipping.
Also, just for clarification - how do users access the download link?

Can we load different files for downloading depending on what option the shopper selects? We want them to be able to purchase different size images and only download one particular option.

All other items I think i have already sorted out.

Hi,

1. The thumbnail is small on your link because your original image is small.
This indicates that when you uploaded that image on your website, either the image was already that small, or you had configured image width and image height settings of the HikaShop configuration with a small size ( 100*100 ) instead of leaving it empty.
So you would have to clear these fields if that's not already done and reupload the original image.

2. If you don't set a weight in your product and have the "force shipping regardless of weight" setting of the HikaShop configuration turned off, you won't get any shipping for your products on your checkout.

3. The download link is given to the customers in several ways:
- in the order status notification email sent to the customer when the order status changes to "confirmed" after the payment.
- in the order details when the customer access it via a menu item of the type HikaShop orders listing or HikaShop user control panel (provided that the order status is confirmed)
- in the download manager when the customer access it via a menu item of the type HikaShop user download or HikaShop user control panel (product that the order status is confirmed and that you've turned on the download manager in the files section of the HikaShop configuration).

4. You can have different files for different options yes. Create a characteristic for the selection of the size, add it to your product, and under the variants tab of the product, add the size variants you want for that product and edit each one to select the files you want to give for each one.

HI Nicolas,

Thank you for your detailed answer.

I am still having a few issues as below:

1. image size - i have created a new product with an image that is over 1000px wide. But it still appears really small.
PLease see my screenshots attached

2. shipping - what is a shopper buys a digital product and a physical product? will they have shipping just for one of them applied and then no shipping for the other? (my client is having a mess with shipping methods so i cannot test anything yet as they don't know their pricing structure).

3.Digital downloads - thank you, all makes sense.

4. Digital variants - thanks, all makes sense.

I have additional questions about checkout, but will post it separately as this is not only a digital question.

Thank you, and kind regards,

Giedre

Hi,

1. It's still the same problem.
You uploaded that image on your website with the image width and image height settings of the HikaShop configuration with a small size ( 300*300 ) instead of leaving them empty.
So you would have to clear these fields reupload the original image.
Apply the solution I told you in my previous message and above-mentioned and you won't have the problem.

2. It depends how you configure your shipping methods. Both are possible based on what you need, the shipping methods you'll use, etc.
