Hi
is there a way to create a unit amount input or dropdown for add on options?

to allow a customer to add on more than 1 of the same option, yet restrict the overall add-ons

e.g. a customer buys an apple.
he can now add on a bannana, an orange and a grape,
or - 2 bannanas and 1 other item
any mixture up to 3 items,

is this possible ?

Hello,

There is no direct way to have what you want BUT for this you have two solutions, it depends from your needs :
1°) You will in mind to add only few products options (like 1,2 or 3) and you can create (or duplicated bananas or orange products) in order to only use them for your product options.
Each, of this product option will be define with a default quantity like this :
in Category products => Products options (so as not to confuse them with the "real" products ):
Product options :
- bananas X 1
- bananas X 2
- bananas X 3
=> As result for each options customer can select his options quantity in classic dropdown system.

2°) you need to let fully your customer select 1 to unlimited quantity option, and that will required a custom code on your HikaShop, for this you can contact our Partners, here for this.
