Why do I see this when I click on a product?

I added new categories and a new product. The link is "/hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing/product/einrichten-smartboard.html". I do not have a menu item alias called "hikashop-menu-for-products-listing". Where is the product page picking that up?

Hello,

Hard to say without more elements, can you provide by example Url link, item menu configuration screenshot, or context elements in order to understand what's going on.

Note : If required you can use our " Contact us " form to provide elements that you don't want to display on the forum.

Regards

Hi,

Edit your product and check the "canonical URL" field there. If you have something in it, and if you activated the "force canonical URLs on listings", it will use that canonical URL for the link instead of generating it dynamically and thus it's possible that it won't work if the menu item that was used before for that canonical URL has been changed or deleted.
So you can remove the canonical URL if it comes from that.
It could also be that the alias of the product doesn't correspond to its alias in the URL. So check also the alias field of the product.

Thanks a lot, spot on! The canonical url caused the issue.
