I found a couple of products that when you click you get a 404 page. I have cleared the Canonical URL to be sure that was not it.

Check the first 3 products on this page.

When I turned off Remove products and categories id in URLs it fixed it. I guess I need to leave that off?

Hi,

This means that the last piece of the URL doesn't correspond to the "alias" that you have in your product.
So make sure that you have that field filled with the correct value and the link will work even with that option turned on.

Okay thank you. It is weird though because it worked before but now the alias adds a p in front of what it was before. Why would this happen? I was wondering why on my Google webmaster tools that I was getting these 404s and it had the p in front of the alias. Is there a way I can fix all of them or do I have to just find them and manually fix them?

Hi,

The p is added because otherwise, the alias starts with a number and in that case the system interprets it as the id of the product and thus tries to load the wrong product.
If you want to fix all of them at once, you can turn off the setting to remove the product id in the URLs. That way, the system will prepend the product_id to the alias and it will always display the product page, regardless of what you have after the product_id.

If I did that then my Google ranking would go down and all the link on there would go to 404.

Then I don't see an alternative other than fixing the aliases in the products with the issue.
