Hello everyone

I have a problem with the pictures thumbnail folder. As soon as I upload a picture to Hikashop, the file permissions in the thumbnail folder are changed from 644 to 600. So the pictures are not displayed anymore. What can I do? Could you please help me?

Thanks in advance

Ralph

Hi,

PHP uses the GROUP permissions of the parent directory of the tmp file location. So you need to check the permissions of the tmp folder on your Joomla / PHP so that it's permissions correspond to what you want the resulting files to be for the group (the second number of the permission).

Thank you for your response

I am not sure if I understand you correctly. Please excuse.

The permissions are all right. In the upload folder, the uploaded images have the authorization 644. Only when the image is generated in the thumbnail folder, the image loses the authorization 644 and has 600 again.

This was not the case before, everything worked the day before yesterday.

Praise greetings

Ralph

Hi,

The upload folder is where the images are copied to.
But when they are uploaded, they are first stored in the tmp folder configured in the php.ini of your server. And the group permission they take is based on the group permission of that tmp folder:
support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/3600...on-on-a-Plesk-server
stackoverflow.com/questions/11857108/wha...-script-writes-there
unix.stackexchange.com/questions/71622/w...t-it-all-public-recu

Now you said that it worked before. So did you or your hosting changed anything on your server or website recently ? That's what you should check on top of checking the permissions of the tmp folder.

Hello again

"your comment"
"Now you said that it worked before. So did you or your hosting changed anything on your server or website recently ? That's what you should check on top of checking the permissions of the tmp folder."

It was actually a server problem. It was worked on a "CageFS bug". The bug has been fixed and the image upload is working again.

Thank you again for your tip and help. You helped me a lot.
