-- url of the page with the problem -- : gkt-vanrijswijk.nl/webshop/zeep/f30-vloeibare-zeep
-- HikaShop version -- : 4.2.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.14
-- PHP version -- : 7.3.13

Hi,
Is it possible to make links of files that are uploaded through a custom field through a product have a nice, readable link?
Now for example they look like this :
gkt-vanrijswijk.nl/webshop/zeep/order/do...ZWV0X25sX25sLnBkZg==

And it would be better (in my case) if it was more of a "normal" pdf link like you would have in an article for example.

Is this doable while still using the file type custom field ?

Thanks,
Nico

Hi,

The thing is that the file has to go through HikaShop so that it can check that you have access to the file. You can't have a directly link as the folder where the file is stored is not accessible, like you do for a PDF link in a joomla article.
Now the parameters in the URL could be made more readable with some code modification but we make them not readable on purpose to make sure that other users can't just guess the parameters on top of having the checks on the access.

Hi,

I can perfectly understand this for files that need to be paid or anything like that.

But it would be nice to have an option in the custom fields that is producing a nice url for linking and good SEO :P

Hope I did not mis any obvious solution in the custom fields section. Especially because then they line up nice with other fields automatically.

Hi,

No there is no option for that Even custom fields of the table "item" (or "order", or "user", or "address") that the customer upload on the product details page, you don't want a user to be able to access the uploaded file of someone else by guessing the URL. It would only be useful for custom product fields. So we didn't thought it would be that interesting to add.
