Wrong related products

Hi
my related products module is showing wrong product
as you can see in attached filed i have choosed only 2 products as related products ... but the module is showin 5 products and that 2 products are not in this 5 products !
i have also attached my related products module setting

what is wrong in my setting?

Hi,

Nothing is wrong with your related products, the problem is the "Synchronize" setting of the module, which is set to No on your screenshot.

The "Relation" setting is only taken into account when "Synchronize with currently displayed item when possible" is set to Yes. With it on No, the module ignores the relation entirely and falls back to a normal product listing of the category selected in "Main category", ordered by creation date, and that is exactly the 5 products you are seeing.

Set "Synchronize" to Yes, it is the option just above "Menu" in the module options, and the module will display the two related products of the product being displayed.

thank you for the response. i set Synchronize to yes, now the module shows nothing ... no products

Hi,

The two products you selected, "[2244] WOSHE Round Hand Bouquet - Orange Lily Red" and "[2242] WOSHE Round Hand Bouquet - Light Blue", are named the way HikaShop names variants: the name of the product followed by the value of its characteristic. If they are indeed variants of a "WOSHE Round Hand Bouquet" product, and not products of their own, that is the explanation: a products listing only displays main products, so a variant selected as a related product is dropped and the module ends up empty. We reproduced it here with your exact settings: with two normal products as related products the module displays them, with two variants it displays nothing. Please open your products listing and check whether those two entries are products of their own or variants of another one. If they are variants, select their parent product instead.

Thank you, my problem is solved.
The problem was what you said about Syncronize.
The reason why the products I was selecting were not showing was simple! Those products were in unpublished state.
I had not paid attention to this because I thought that if they were unpublished, they would not be displayed where I selected them

Hi,

Yes, HiakShop allows for selection of unpublished products in the backend. This way, you can prepare products before selling them.
