Hi Nicholas
Joomla 2.5
A customer says ...
"I have received 2 separate confirmation emails with 2 separate order reference numbers (X9YO and X8X9) for the same item. However I have only put in my PayPal details for one of these."

Nicholas it seems that this is possible with IE8, if the Proceed to Payment button
is clicked more than once. I have only tested locally, and sometimes clicking more than once
can also empty the cart as well. I have tested it on your demo site and it seems ok.
Has anyone else seen this? It seems a bit unstable... IE8
is horrible but lots of people use it. The only solution I can see is to add text to Proceed
to Payment ...Please click Once Only.

Are you sure that it's not because the user clicked on cancel on paypal before returning to it again ?
Doing that would effectively create two orders.

Otherwise, yes, clicking several times the button might display a cart empty message if the "Clean cart when order is" option of the configuration is set to "created" or if you use a really old version of HikaShop.

One alternative solution would be to add some javascript to hide the button after clicking on it. That can be done in the "step" file of the "checkout" view via the menu Display->Views

Using hikashop v 1.54
If she cancelled at Paypal, her order would
be set automatically from created to cancelled
in the data-base, and the cart emptied.
So she didn't do that.
She maintains she paid on paypal, but there is
no ipn received, and no payment in our account.
I called paypal and they say the payment wasn't made.

I am relying on her telling of what happened...
what really happened is anyones guess...
the point is Something happened, and its
a mystery to me.
Thanks nicholas

If the payment is not in paypal, then she didn't pay. She probably forgot to validate at the end or something like that.
