Hi,

I have some problems with my vendors. They are not able to see or change the product categories through the front-end..
e.g
changing the category from red to white wine
or
when they add a new product, they cannot define the product category. Only the vendor is showing up correctly.

Did i set up something wrong?

Thanks for your feedback.

Regards
Markus

Hi,

I am currently rewriting the multivendor tutorial.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...-multi-tutorial.html
There is a part which explain how the categories are working and how you can restrict the categories seen by your vendors.
I know that I still have to work on improving the explanations ; it is some concept not easy to understand (and not easy to explain either).

The product you show in your first screenshots just have 2 categories. In the HIkaShop backend you can see the path/breadcrumb to the selected category but there is still two lines so just two categories for the product.

About the other screenshots, because you set a root category for your vendors, they can see only the part that you allowed.
You might need to remove some restrictions in you want to allow your vendor to select any category in your store.

Hi Jerôme

Does this mean, that i cannot have subccategories like:
Redwines as main category and pinotnoir as subcategories which should show up in the frontend for the vendor?

Thanks

Markus

Hi,

There is no subcategories restrictions or troubles.
You can have the structure you want, you just have to configure HikaMarket to let your vendor access to your product categories.

Hi,

Honestly, did you read the tutorial or the configuration ?
I need to know if my explanations are understandable or not.
Because you are definitely not in the right part to configure the categories settings in HikaMarket !

Hi Jerôme

I am really confused.
i have set up categories with subcategories in Hikashop.
eg. redwines as maincategory and pinotnoir as subcategories.

i want to see this categories in the vendor-frontend. He should be able to add or change this categories for exisitng or new products he isentering.

I can see also his vendor category which he can add or delete. this works fine. But how do i configure it, that he can add, change or delete the product-categories. Currently i see just one subcategory where the product has been created. he cannot add or change something. He should also be able to define more than one category. This is also necessary when he enters a new product.
I am sure that this is working somehow, but i cannot figure it out and i do not want to screw up my current settings.

Can you tell me, what the right settings should be to fullfill my requirements?

Many thanks for your help. :)

Regards
Markus

Hi,

Okay so.
You have 4 options in the HikaMarket configuration to set-up the categories.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...nfig_market_category

In your case, I don't know if you want to create a vendor category for each vendors but what I know is that you want to change their "root category".
Using the "vendor home" as "root category" is not useful in your case because you want to allow more categories.
So the best is to use the value "yes" and to choose the category which will be the root for your vendors.
You can select "product categories" if you want to allow all categories in your store, or you can use another category to put more restrictions.

Please note that even if you choose "product category" in the HikaMarket configuration, you will be able to override this setting for each vendor.
So you can have a vendor with a "root category" set on "Rotweine" for example. Thanks to that, the vendor will be able to select the category "Rotweine" and all sub categories of this one.

Hope it will help you.
Don't hesitate to comment or provide feedback on the tutorial ; I'm rewriting it and I want to explain this kind of aspect of HikaMarket. It's not easy concept for sure, so I have to provide a good documentation to help users (and it's difficult to see from my point of view if the explanations are good enough).
