Hi Jerome,

It looks like I have another problem - this time uploading new products on the front-end as a vendor.
I created a test vendor account to make sure I could upload products. I went to the vendor control panel to upload a new product. I uploaded a photo, entered all the details for the new product, but when I uploaded the file I received an error message saying: "A product with this code already exists."

I renamed the file and tried to upload it again and received that error message again. Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks.

Hi,

I am trying to reproduce your problem.
You are using IE9 so I suppose that you do not have the drag&drop system.

Can you post here a screenshot of the problem (before the submission and just after, it will be perfect) ?

Thanks

I used Firefox and the same error happened, so it's not just Internet Explorer.

I add a new product from the front-end as a vendor (because I want to test a vendor account). Allowed file types are PDF, MOBI, and EPUB.
I've attached 3 screenshots: uploading the file, after I upload the file - no file is there, and the error message
The file won't even upload from the front-end and it still gives me that error message.

Hi,

The problem is not related to the file upload.
There was a problem with the update of the file zone just after the "manual" upload. This problem will be fixed in the next release (that I hope publish soon, changelog is mostly written).

About the product code, it looks like you didn't have it in your screenshots and you have an empty product name too.
I don't know what options you activated in HikaMarket but the product code is generally determined using the product name if you don't specify it (the product code).
HikaMarket have some features to avoid the product code duplication, trying to always generate a unique product code.
But if you don't specify any product name, it could be a little bit complicated for HikaMarket to have a working base for his product code generation.

Kind regards,

So do I need to specify a product name for the file when I upload it?

Hi,

While upload it ?!
No.. I said that there is no link between the upload and the rest.

When you save your product, the file is already uploaded so there is no link at all between the two parts.

The problem is when you save your product because your product name is empty and I still don't know anything of your configuration so I can't tell you more but it is not a good thing that the product name if empty.
Don't you think ?

Hi.

I sell digital files on my website which are books, so I need to upload them. I can upload them from the administrator end with no problem. I'd like for my vendors to be able to upload their files from the front-end so that I don't have to upload their files for them.

When I upload files on the admin end, I don't use a name for the file in the upload area, but I do name them in the main area. I thought that would work on the front-end for my vendors.
Is it possible at all to upload files on the front end? If I need to, I can let you look at my configuration.

Hi,

Can you just read what I wrote ? Please !
Product name = the product name, not the name of the file, the real product name, of the product, in the product page, not in the popup.

And answering to my question should be good too.

Thanks
