Shipping Methods

-- url of the page with the problem -- : antiquesbazar.com
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.2.1
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5
-- PHP version -- : 5.2.
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : firefox 24, IE 8, chrome 30
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : None

When more than one vendors items are in the cart and they both have shipping you can not select the the shipping method or have it automatically selected.
This means you can not proceed to the next checkout step.
I have setup a shipping module by weight, see screen shot,
Every thing seems to work ok if only one vendors item/s are in the cart.
Maybe I have something setup wrong?
Any ideas?
Joomla debug mode is on.
Let me know if you need access to administrator.

Hi,

You have restrictions on your shipping method and.
There is no shipping method available for the vendor "Tina".
It means that the product sold by "Tina" does not feet to the requirements of the shipping method.
That's why there is no shipping listed under "Tina" but there is one under "Freedy".

Thank you for replying.
How do you enable a shipping method for a vendor? Adding the vendor number to the restrictions?
Do you need to add each vendor to each shipping method for it to be active for them, or leave it blank for all vendors to use?
What format should be used if more than one vendor? 2,3,4 2 3 4 2-3-4 ?
If you add an item to the cart from Tina then shipping works as expected.
If you add an item to the cart from Freddy shipping works as expected.
If you add one item from Tina and Freddy it breaks.
This is with or without restrictions enabled.
But really restrictions need to be enabled to determine shipping costs by weight.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

If you put a vendor restriction, you can just specify one single vendor.
If the restriction is "0" (or empty) so there is no vendor restriction.
If the restriction is "1", it will be your main vendor (your store).

But we don't support the multiple vendors in this field for one reason : In a future release of HikaMarket, vendor will be able to create/modify their shipping methods.
That's why the "vendor option" in the shipping configuration just allow to select one single vendor.

For what I saw in your website. I didn't have to possibility to have the shipping available for one single vendor.
I got the message "cart weight is to low" or "cart weight is too big".

So, I really think that it is a weight restriction problem.

So the vendor restrictions work as expected. Thanks for verifying that.
I had disabled all methods except one to to minimize variables and you happened to pick items that did not fit. Sorry.

Try adding this item antiquesbazar.com/index.php/categories/product/16-kodak-timer (Tina)
and antiquesbazar.com/index.php/categories/product/10-whatisalias (Freddy)

If both items use the same method - restricted by weight - only one vendor has a radio button. you can not select it.
If 2 items and 2 vendors use different methods - restricted by weight - 2 radio buttons are visible. You can not select either one.

Clicking 'Next' displays error pop up 'Please select your shipping information'

Hi,

Thanks for the details and sorry for the delay.
I was able to reproduce the problem in my local website using HikaShop 2.2.2 and HikaMarket 1.3.1
The problem is more link to the multi-shipping system of HikaShop than the override made by HikaMarket.

For the moment, you can activate the option to auto-select the shipping method with the submit on selection.
If you have the option "Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection" you must have the auto select option because HikaShop can't accept a partial submission of the shippings.

Otherwise you have to remove the "auto submit" feature. Then you will be able to select the shipping methods (for all vendors) and click on "next" to validate your choice.
But the first solution is better.

I will see if it is possible to make it work with the auto submit but not the auto select.

That works , thanks.
I did find in testing that if a shipping method (a) is restricted to a vendor (3) and vendor 2 has an item in the cart alone that the shipping method (a) will be applied to vendor 2, in this case Vendor 2 product does not fit any other shipping method.

Not sure if this is by design. But it also breaks shipping if 2 items from 2 vendors (3 and 2) and (3) matches method (a) and (2) does not match any shipping method.

Hi,

I made several tests in my side and if you have shipping per vendors, the shipping methods display are only the shipping for the selected vendor or without any vendor restriction.
The other restrictions are based on the vendor's products.

It means that if you have a weight restriction, HikaMarket will process the weight of the vendors' products (and not the total weight of the cart) and then process the shipping restrictions.

A shipping method without vendor restriction can be used by several vendors in the same time without any problem.
You have to be sure that you will always have a shipping method available (manage every cases) otherwise it will be possible that the customer can't finish his order if there is not available shipping method for a vendor.

It is logical because it means that the vendor won't be able to ship his part of the order.
