Duplicate products or use product template

I need my HikaMarket users to be able to duplicate a product in the style of the buttons "Duplicate" in the list view or the "Save as copy" in the article view.

Another solution would be to create a product template so for Product type A the hikamarket user can create a blank new porduct or one based on a user defined template where several fields are always the same.

Is this feature avilable?

Shall I publish as a feature request?

I think there might be a function or trick for this, otherwise is a big pain for many business.

I see that in Administrator mode for HikaShop there is a Copy button in the Products list screen, this should simply be implemented in HikaMarket (if already isn't).

Hi,

Product template are for the moment only use when you create a new product. It is planned to improve it so you will have the possibility to create several templates and let the user chose the type of product he will create during a creation.
The duplicate button is not in the front-end interface of HikaMarket. You are currently the first people to ask for it.
So I create a ticket for your feature request ; it should be include in the next package.

I hope you can implement this function soon. It is very useful and makes daily work a lot easier.

Meanwhile would be a tricky way to call the HikaShop administration side Copy button form HikaMarket frontend product list view? I think it should not be much complex as the feature already exists in the admin side.

Hi,

Yes the function exists in the admin part, it also exists in the class. But to call it, you have to do in the "HikaMarket way".
You have to check the rights of the user, see if he can access to the product, see if he has the right to create a product, etc
So the main development will be to make the integration of the feature. I think that I will add a ACL for this right (to copy a product)

Are there any news on this topic?

I need a very common and simple function that is:

I have product A.

i want to create product B and C (in a not planned way, so import doesn't do the job) by selecting product A and clicking on a "clone button".

If admin side allows this should be also available in frontside, the lack of it drives frustration to my customers.

So do you think is reasonable that we expect a Hikamarket update in a 30 day timeframe from now?

Hi,

I am working as fast as I can to make the new release.
Like I said since several weeks, I am trying to finish the rebuilt of the order system in order to manage things that aren't manage for the moment.
So, I am sure that I won't do the release of the next version until I am sure at 200% that the new system is working perfectly. I have a dozen of test cases and some does not "reply" like I want to.
I hope that it will be finish and validate in the next 30 days.

But I know that, if you really want to add this feature in your current website, there are 5 files to edit and I can give you the precise indications by email of the files and the content to put into.

Hi Jerome,

thank you very much for your extensive explanations and also thank you for your offer to give indications. I did some code enhancing in the past (like filter reset button or disable button in frontend of HIkamarket) but sooner or later your team arrived with an official method for my improvements, so for this time I will wait and trust your expertise and "official solution" to the problem so I get stuck to the "legal" procedures of your platform.

You know, the modifications that I can send you be email are the modifications I included in HikaMarket.
It won't be a real modification because, in the next release of HikaMarket the same code will be there.

In the case it is only a matter of replacing some files then they will be very welcome and installed and tested this very weekend.
