amount of options

My client has a lingerieshop and with Hikashop it has to turn into a webshop, but i stumbled upon a 'little' problem.
Each bra has three options: Bust Size, Cup size and color. I want to minimize the ammount of options for my client to fill.

So i was wondering: Is it possible to have just one picture for the product and multiple options (or caracteristics).

Also there are different sizes and cups. For example: cup B (size 75-85), C (size 70-85), D (size 65-90) DD-GG cup (size 60-90) en H (size 60-85). When customers select for example cup B, they must not be able to select size 65, because cup B goed from 75 to 85.

And last: Can i make sure the bigger sizes get an additional price?

I understand it's a difficult one, thats why i try to find the answer here.

Hi there,

Indeed, everything you're looking for is possible with Hikashop.
You just have to create your three characteristics and add them to one product. Then you'll be able to edit each variant to give them a specific price, and since a variant is created for each possibility, you'll also be able to delete variants you don't want.

I added the characteristics cup and size. Cup goes from A to G. Size goes from 75 to 115.
Problem is now that customers can choose a bra that doesn't exist. For example E115.
The E cup only has size 75 to 100 available.

You need to click on the "manage variants" button of your product and remove the variants which do not exist.

Got it.
Now, when selecting cup G and size 115, there is a message that the product is not in store. I'd rather see the 115 option not possible at all, but this is a start.

You can change the characteristics display method to "table" in order to not be able to select non existant variants when you have two characteristics for products.

Sorry for bumping such an old topic, but let me explain:
My client (4 years ago) suddenly decided not to start with the webshop, so all the work didn't pay off.
But now they do (atleast i hope) and i am struggling with the same issue.
I got the variants working, but i want the variants that are not excistant, not to be visible at all. Note that the variants are not in the product variant list and the characteristics display method already set to Table.

Hello,

Firstly, are you using the last Hikashop version ? Can you download it on our end, install it and test it again ?

If that's the case, can you show us screenshots of your product variants listing ?

Thank you.

Just updated to Hikashop Business 3.3.0 on Joomla 3.8.5.
Attached you'll find the screenshots. Front-end and back-end.
This product ranges between A-G, 65-115, black and nature. But the size 65B doesn't excist. No stock it says (Geen voorraad)

Hello,

Can you try it with the "Characteristics selection method" option set to "Table" via "Hikasop->System->Configuration->Display" ?

Thank you.

Hi,

The "table" display of characteristics will only work with exactly two characteristics. But on your product it seems that you have three characteristics.
You should rather use the "list" selection method which can work regardless of the number of characteristics.

The options do list, but they are not selectable

If there is not another option, i could make seperate products based on color. Sizes and shapes wil remain variants

Hi,

The add to cart buttons are supposed to display there.
If you don't see them, it's because you must have configured the product/variants in a way that HikaShop removes the add to cart button.
There are several possible reasons. To name a few:
- you have the "catalogue mode" setting activated in the HikaShop configuration
- you have the "display add to cart button" deactivated in the Hikashop configuration
- you have a quantity of 0 for the variants or the main product.
- you have a start or end sale date in the product or the variants which doesn't include today.
- you didn't set a price in the product or the variants and you have the "display add to cart button for free products" setting deactivated in the HikaShop configuration.

Just had a meeting with my client. He agrees to use the dropdown variants method.
Now i am trying to ad a price. When i set the product retail price and leave the variant price empty, it doesn't show me the price in the frontend. How can i add a (global) price?

Hi,

The "retail price" field contains the MSRP ( manufacturer's suggested retail price ).
That's the price that other stores usually sell the product at.
It's not the price you're selling the product at.
You should add the price you want to sell the product at below, in the listing of prices of the product.
The prices in that listing will automatically apply to the variants if they don't have prices in their prices listing themselves.
