@forum, @support,

Sorry, if this has been asked before.

I am developing a shop for a client and I am in testbed at the moment.

I am wondering, can I build a pseudo product based on the user input?

Example: I want them to choose (variants from dropdowns):

1. qty
2. product colour.
3. font colour.
4. font style
5. enter message
or 6. upload an image (replaces 3 & 4 & 5)

Is this possible, or has someone done this in Hikashop already?

Is it also possible for the shop to do a refresh and show an image based on the input or uploaded image ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

With HikaMarket frontend, you can completely customize (show / hide) each product option on the product edition / creation form on the frontend.
So you can have one or the other. However, you can have the user select which one to do.
With HikaMarket Multivendor, you can potentially have two user accounts for the user and configure the product edition / creation form differently for each one. However, he will have to logout/login to switch from one mode to the other and once a product will be created in a mode, he will have to use the same user account to modify the product.

Thank you Nicolas,
Is there a demo for this in HikaMArket, and how easy would it be to move from Hikashop to HikaMarket ?

Thanks in Advance,

Hi,

You can find a demo of HikaMarket on our demo website: demo.hikashop.com

And there is no need to "move" from HikaShop to HikaMarket. HikaMarket is another extension but it extends the capabilities of HikaShop. So it requires HikaShop to work and there is no issue to add it to a HikaShop website. Just install HikaMarket and it will integrate with HikaShop automatically.

Nicolas,

Another question as you seem to know this system inside out.
I cannot get shipping to work correctly.. I have search the forums and checked everything and have wasted too much time now.

I have restricted the checkout form to guest only.
Also, the Geolocation plugin is disabled.
I have the currency switcher inplace, but not using it as a restriction in the shipping.
I have restricted to countries and at the moment I am trying to test New Zealand (NZ)
I have attached the screen shot, I have weights and qty in place.
If I select the Country as New Zealand, I still get Australian shipping. Does the page not refresh if you select a different country in the form?

It works for the Australian shipping if I change qty, it changes the cost of the shipping.

Thanks
MSF

Hi,

Well, you can try it out on our demo website, but if you want to do a more in depth test, I'm afraid you'll have to install it on your end ot set it up like you want, and thus purchase it.
Note that we have a money back policy:
www.hikashop.com/money-back-policy.html
So you have 30 days after your purchase to ask for a refund if it wouldn't suit your needs.

Nicolas,

I don't think HikaMarket will do what I want.
You are basically asking a user to build a product and if they don't understand Hikashop structure etc, then it won't work.

I just want them to be able to pick a colour, a font, a font color and enter some words, or upload an image. Then some how have the product update and show what they are buying and then add to cart and checkout.

Thanks,

Hello,

With the HikaMarket ACL, you can select which fields you want to make available for your vendors.
Afterwards, you can use "product template" in order to pre-fill or set values for the new products. Like a pre-set quantity, pre-set prices, etc.

You do not need to give a full configuration interface to your vendors, you can really limit to the necessary.

Jerome,
Thank you, one more question.
Do I need to set up all the variants in the shop before I put the market in the front of it ?
As, I don't know how the market runs as yet, and only looked at the demo a few times, I am trying to wrap my head around it.

I want a customer to
a) Pick A coloured Balloon
b) Pick a font colour
c) pick a font type
d) have a message field for the message to be printed on the balloon

e) upload an image to replace b,c &d

Have the product refresh and show them what they want to purchase, select the QTY and then place the order.

Is this at all possible, or am I trying to ask too much from Hika shop/Market ?

Regards and thanks,
MSF

Hi,

We were not talking about the same thing apparently.
From the way you're saying it now, it seems that it's the customers who will do that, as a "customized product".
I thought that it was the shop owner who wanted to generate products (to easily create a lot of products in the shop).

While you can have custom fields on the product page with HikaShop Business so that the customers can enter text or select something (like a font, a color, etc) or upload an image, there is no "refresh" process which would allow the customer to preview the end result. That would not require the creation of new/dummy products, however, it would non the less require some custom coding to generate the preview and display it. So in that respect, you would need a developer to help you with such implementation.
You have for example our partner polishedgeek.com/ who have developed "customized product" integrations with HikaShop even more complex than what you're trying to do.
