The Australia Post shipping plugin requires the user to enter a postal code when goods are shipped within Australia. Please go to "Display->Custom fields" and set the post code field to required.

The Custom Field Post Code is set to required and the alert continues.

What am I missing?

Hi,

Edit the shipping address of your user and make sure that the post code field is filled.

The alert appears as soon as "Proceed to Checkout" button is clicked
Have added the Post Code to the form and it still remains

Below are the Custom Field settings

Unsure as to why that alert still appears?

Thanks

Hi,

That's because the Australia Post plugin can only provide the shipping cost after the user enters his address.
Before that, it can't display anything and it returns to HikaShop telling it that it can't provide any shipping cost.
Due to this, HikaShop displays that message because it can't display the shipping methods selector, like you asked it to with your Checkout configuration.
So there are 2 main ways to sort the alert for you:
- You could modification your Checkout workflow to have in on several steps with the address entering block on a step, and the shipping methods selection block on the next step: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/4...eckout-workflow.html
- You could turn off the "Display errors" setting of the "Shipping" block in your Checkout workflow. That way, when no shipping method is available, HikaShop won't display an error message.

While I agree with what should happen the outcome is still flawed.

In the first image a postcode has been entered.
The alert remains
If I add a different shipping address with a different postcode, the error remains.

I'll proceed to check the two suggestions

Thanks so much for that

Hi

No, on your screenshot, you didn't yet validate the address. You need to click on the "next" or "register" button to validate it. Only then can the system on the server-side receive the address and take it into account to contact the shipping provider's server and get the shipping costs.
That's why it usually makes sense to have two steps, first a step where you enter the address, and then a step where you get to choose the shipping mode; or to turn off the error message when no shipping method is available since you just want to hide the shipping area before the address is entered.

Gotcha

Was hoping for a one page cart/payment page without lots of "Next" buttons.
Thanks for the insights.
Will see what I can achieve with this.
