Hi,

we're operating a store based in Germany.

If a customer orders from outside the EU, they see product prices without tax (on the product's page, in the cart and during checkout).

We would like to display the full price for them, however the options we found in HikaShop's configuration don't seem to work (see Attachments). Side note: Setting "Price with tax" to "Both" functions correctly for shipping costs.

Is something not working properly or are we doing something wrong?

Hi,

If you configured the display to be with taxes and you don't see any taxes added to the prices, it means that the tax rules you've configured in the menu System>Taxes are deemed not adapted to the current situation by the system.
So please provide a screenshot of what you have in the System>Taxes menu.
That's probably where you need to change something.

Also, you said that customers outside the EU don't see taxes. Isn't that supposed to be the case ?
On our website, we configured our tax rules in System>Taxes so that it only add taxes to the prices when the customer is in the EU, and customers outside the EU see the prices without taxes.

Hi nicolas,
thanks for the reply.

It seems we had a case of miscommunication, my apologies. Non-EU customers seeing prices without tax is indeed correct behavior, since we had no Tax rule set for that Zone.

As a next step, however, we would like to have uniform product prices for all customers (16,80€ for example) and then have the taxes calculated "down" from that price. Is there a way to achieve this with Hika?

Current calculation (5% VAT): 15,70€ * 0,05
Desired calculation (5% VAT): 16,80€ - 16,80€ / 1,05

See the attachments for screenshots of current and desired behavior.

Hi,

You can do that by activating the "Floating tax prices" setting in the HikaShop configuration.
Note that you might want to add the tax value to the prices with a mass action when you do that:

Hi,
using floating tax prices worked well for us. For future reference, here are the steps we made:

1. Enable "Floating tax prices" in Hikashop->Configuration
2. Run mass actions to add the appropriate tax back to the price (filter by product_tax_id and increase price_value)
3. Check for product variants that have their tax category set to "As parent product" (since they weren't selected by the filter, I increased their price by hand)
4. Change shipping method prices to include tax and set "Automatic taxes" to "Proportion"

Thanks for the help, case closed :-)
