Customer information on product order specificatio

Hallo there.

I have products to sell where i write a phrase on it. As the words are supplied from customer i don't know how to let the customer comunicate it.

I wrote in the product description that there is to specify the words on the checkout, but it seems that nobody reads. So they order and then they call me.

Some suggestions how i can do it. I tried with the custom fields but they are not editable by the customer in the frontend.

The best solution will probably be to :
- Go to "Hikashop->Display->Custom fields"
- Create a new custom field
- Set the "Table" option to Item, and the "Field type" option to Text
- Publish it for the front-end.

So your customers will be able to directly communicate their "phrase" that you'll have to write on the product.

i tried your solution, but this shows the field in all products. i tried also to create an category for personalised products and added the field to this category but it still shows up on all products.

Is there any hint to make it show only on selected products?

Also in the configuration of the custom field there is a message on the right side:

Display limited to You need to publish at least one other field of the same table first

sorry... it worked like i described before.... i don't know why it showed up different.
