Confirmation emails not sending anywhere

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.4
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5 - i think

confirmation email of starter pack orders on the link provided above are not being sent? i am expecting them to be going to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. but they don't seem to come through. I have tested this a number of times and still clueless as to why they are not coming through, seems to work on any other site that we are using that has HIKA shop on it. Please Help.

We use guest checkout to avoid users having to register, there probably is an easier way to collect the information that we need but for now how it is has been working but the confirmation emails are a major problem for us.

Hi,

First of all, you don't have the latest version ;)
Then, are the other emails working ? The joomla default ones like the one for the registration confirmation ?

I ask that because HikaShop use the same email system than Joomla, so if the Joomla mails are working the HikaShop ones should too.

Another question, is the sender email address and receiver one the same ? If it is, it is sometime not allowed by the servers, so please try to use different emails.

I have just sent a test email from admin to admin through the joomla admin and its worked fine. Have tried changing the recieve email address with still no joy.

I won't be able to update the version till monday. Could this fix the issue?

Hi,

Are you talking about the user confirmation email ? In that case, it's normal that it is not sent since you're in guest checkout, and thus no account is created and no email confirmation is necessary.
Or maybe you're talking about the order confirmation email. In that case, it would mean that there must be a problem with your email server not sending emails with HTML.
Try to turn off the option "Multiple part" of the HikaShop configuration and see if that helps.
Otherwise, you should seek advice with your hosting company regarding the options of the Emails section of the HikaShop configuration. It could come from the "add name" option, the "encoding format" option, the "embed images" option, etc not being supported by your email server.

I've actually logged on the backend of lgv4u.com with the access your provided and tried to send myself a notification email and it worked properly:

So maybe the issue is with your receiver email address (email server) that you're using for your tests ?

Hey its the

An order has been created emails and the payment confirm - we process emails to customers on the back of orders being placed as we need to put address/full details and requirements for each product.

I have tried turning of multiple part, no change, have checked logs and can't see any email that has been prevented or stopped. Looking through the mail logs for enquiries@ there have been no bounces/rejections or anything to suggest its the server not accepting the emails... I also tried turning off add name/embed options to see if that would work, nothing still.

After speaking to hostgator they can't see any logs or fails to suggest anything is preventing them from getting through and we do have hika on other sites that we host on the same server that are sending fine - be it these are using an older version of hika shop - 2.3.2 Looking through the other sites on the previous hikashop that are working i can't see any settings that differ.

the reciever email works for everything else including the other parts none hika related contact us go through to the enquiries@ just fine... i'm completely at a loss here...

Again after speaking to Hostagator there is nothing being generated in way of order creation or so on

Hi,

I still believe that the issue is with the email server.

Try to change the "Payment notifications email address" and the "Order creation admin notifications email address" settings of the HikaShop configuration to a gmail address and see if it works.

Hi,

I still don't understand what doesn't work.
I've done a test on your website backend by opening an order and clicking on the "email" button and entering there my email address as receiver and I got the email.
So the email sending in HikaShop is working just fine.

In a previous message you said:

An order has been created emails and the payment confirm

But everything in that sentence is wrong:
1. No payment confirmation was sent to HikaShop for that order, or you would have another line in your history list with the reason "automatic payment notification".
2. You didn't select any user for the order, so HikaShop wouldn't be able to send a notification for the order anyway since it wouldn't find any email address to send the notification.

From what I understand, the problem is not about HikaShop not sending emails on your website. It's about you not entering the necessary information in the orders and/or not configuring your payment plugin properly to receive payment notifications after paying for the order on the payment gateway.

I've either not explained my issue correctly or I don't understand how to fix... I have now been into the payment section of the and turned on payment notifications from paypal, send details of the order and show notes. I have retested and still not got the results that I want.

I don't want the site to automatically email the customer at all that is not something that we require at this stage, I want the site to email our enquiries@ address with the normal confirmation email that firstly an order has been created containing the custom field that have been requested at the cart/checkout stage and then once they made payment traditionally another email would go to the enquiries@ email that would update the line of the email to say confirmed... These emails prompt us to raise our version of confirmation email to send to the customer, as with the products we sell we need them in a lot of detail hence why we have guest registration and no login required...

On the previous websites we have had we have never ever had issues with these Order Creation/Confirmation being sent straight to the enquiries@ email and we still don't on the sites that are yet to be updated but i don't want to update them to loose this confirmation email process...

We do not want anything sent to the customer just a notification to us that the order has been created and then confirmed.

I have also just run through the whole order process including making payment through paypal, and it hasn't updated the order in the back to show confirmed its still listed as created.

Hi,

We're making progress. Now I understand that your problem is with the email notifications sent to the admin, while I was assuming that you were talking about email notifications sent to the customer in your previous messages.

If the option "Allow payment notifications from PayPal" was turned off, it's normal that your orders were not confirming automatically.
I checked your HikaShop settings for the emails and they look fine so you should receive the email notification which is sent after the order is created. If you don't, it means that there is a problem with the email server and you should contact your hosting.
In any case, updating or not HikaShop won't change that.
Same for the fact that your orders are not confirmed automatically. This means that something in your website/web server doesn't allow HikaShop to receive the payment notifications.

Updating or not HikaShop won't change anything for the payment notifications.

After checking through all of the steps on the page you suggested, i can't see anything that would affect it... i have removed/edited anything i thought may to get no results still.

I have then tried to debug the payment option. Again with no results in the log file.

Contacting the Hosting (host gator) have said there is nothing wrong with it, the emails etc all are working fine.as they are on other sites that we have hosted with them that use the hika shop plugin.

Hi,

You should:
- check order to see if there is something in the order history log (related to paypal notification)
- check your web server log in order to see if paypal right call notification page in your website
- if there is, see the HTTP return code
- if the code is not 200, investigate on that.

Under the Orders we are recieving
payment confirmed automatic payment notification received 173.0.81.1 2015-02-24 18:42

I can't see any issues in the log its returning a blank page no error code??

Hi,

Are you workling on a different website than the URL you gave ?
Because there is no order listed in your backend.

After that, I see that your have customized some emails.
Regarding the order history, we know that the order is confirmed, so HikaShop should send the email just after that.
If there is a PHP error in the email, it can stop the process and do not send the emails.
At this moment the best will be to check your PHP error log.

Your HikaShop payment log, as your order listing, is also full empty, so it will be difficult to extract some useful information.
The PHP error log is for the moment the best option.

Hey,

The website I gave was where the problem was first spotted, that site was then deleted and recreated exactly the same but from scratch for the problem to be there. Other sites (i have sent to the contact on here) haven't been changed and are still having the problem.

We currently have 9 sites that use HIKA shop business edition that are having this problem - of which only started when I upgraded to the new version, I did then also create a template site of which was then copied over to others and edited to fit the needs of the product each individual site offer... I will try and pm you a list of sites if you like.

I will have to look through the PHP logs but honestly not too sure what i'm looking for as I have tested the Joomla emails and they seem to be working fine.
