Hi,

Yesterday I worked on Hikashop and everything went normal. When I opened the site todat they was a big white box on the right site. I don't know how it got there. I don't know if there is a link wirth Hikashop but I think so. Can somebody tell me what it is and how to remove it?

At the end, when the checkout is done for manual payment costumers get a screen with all information how to transfer money. But now this is the standard text. I cannot find where I can change that text. I also would like that the costumer receives an email with all thiss information. So how or where can i change the text and how do I get Hikashop to send a final mail to the costumer with all the needed info to do a money transfer?

Thanks for your help.

In attachmene the text with info the costumer gets after chekout. I want to change this text and I want it also send by email.

Greetings

Hi,

The "white box" on the right side comes from the template which adds the sidebar because you've configured a module to display there.
That module is the cart module. You've configured it to not output anything when it is empty, but the template still sees the module and thus still reserves the area for it.
I would recommend not displaying the cart module there if you don't plan on having other modules in the sidebar. Instead move it to a top position and configure it in "mini cart" mode.

Regarding the information displayed to the user, when you edit your payment method in System>Payment methods, you have a setting "information" where you can change that default text.

Thanks for this info. I could resolve the problem about that area.

But I cannot find the way to change the info. Could you tell meexactly how to get there? Because I cannot find it.

And how can I let this info be send by email to the costumer?

Thanks

Hi,

As I said, you need to access the System>Payment methods menu:
i.imgur.com/RaIyqmx.png
There, you'll see the listing of payment methods you configured.
Edit the bank transfer payment method you've created in the past and on that edit screen, you'll have an information setting where you can change this:

Ok thanks. Your pics are not the same as mine because of a different version but I found it.

Then one last question. How can it be mailed? Or is this not possible?

Hi,

It will be included in the email automatically normally.
This depends on the order status of the order and what you configured under the "unpaid" column of the System>Order statuses menu of the HikaShop backend.

I am sorry but again your answer is not clear to me. And I encounter still problems.

I hope for a clear answer.

There is no mail included. I cannot find where to install this nor where to set up the mail. As we use different versions it would be nice to see by picture where to do this. I also cant find the place to change the text of the emails, if sended. So where can i enable and change them?

I couls change the text in Dutch when the order has been placed and giving the right info to do the transfer. But the top sentences I cannot find where to change those. And the same for the sentences on the bottom.

Then i have this strange thing. I asked a coworker to order something as a test. When she regitered she got mail to activate it. But when I try the same for a test i don't receive a mail to activate. I don't understand why the same procedure doesn't work for me but does for her.

When she tryes paypal it doesn't work at al. I did do the connection and paypal said hikashop was connected but no not working.

So many problems and i cant find in the manual how to resolve them.

Can you please help me? Using pics would be very easy.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

There is no mail included. I cannot find where to install this nor where to set up the mail. As we use different versions it would be nice to see by picture where to do this.

What do you mean by this ? If you check my previous screenshot to access System>Payment methods, you can also see the "Emails" section there: imgur.com/RaIyqmx
There is no way you don't have that menu in your HikaShop. Please check again.
If you're saying that your problem is that HikaShop is not sending any emails, then it probably means that you have a problem with the email configuration in the Joomla configuration page: guide.joomla.org/user-manual/configurati...tion-smtp-mail-gmail

I also cant find the place to change the text of the emails, if sended. So where can i enable and change them?

If you want to customize the text of the emails, you can do so with translation overrides under the Languages tab of the HikaShop configuration:
www.hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify

When she regitered she got mail to activate it. But when I try the same for a test i don't receive a mail to activate. I don't understand why the same procedure doesn't work for me but does for her.

It could either be because you're already logged in on your website, and thus there is no registration during the checkout for you and thus no activation needed.
I checked the situation on your checkout and I also got the registration with the activation email.

When she tryes paypal it doesn't work at al. I did do the connection and paypal said hikashop was connected but no not working.

I checked the situation on your website checkout with PayPal and I found that you have this issue:

Supposing that the buttons are displayed, if you click on the "PayPal" button and you don't get the PayPal payment popup, or you get a blank popup on top of the normal popup, it's likely you have a problem with the Cross Origin Opener Policy of your website. You need to configure your System - HTTP Headers plugin, via the Joomla plugins manager. In its Plugin tab, change its "Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy" setting to "same-origin-allow-popups"

www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/4...out-form.html#issues
So follow this and it should help.

Hi, thank you for your answer.

Your picture is not the same version as i have i think. But still I cannot find the place to enable sending the emails. It is definetely not to find in the way of your picture. So I still don't find where I can give hikashop the order to send a mail after ordering or paying or so. This way is just not working. Not even close to where I want to be.

2. If you're saying that your problem is that HikaShop is not sending any emails, then it probably means that you have a problem with the email configuration in the Joomla configuration page: guide.joomla.org/user-manual/configurati...tion-smtp-mail-gmail

I don't think Joomla is the problem as it mails perfectly with anymailing plugin. Also registration on hkashop is working as a mail has been send. I tested this with a coworker so i don't think the problem is with joomla. The problem has to be with hikashop but i cant find where. Anyway i tryed to put gmail as host ut nothing changed. The testmail arrived properly.

3. If you want to customize the text of the emails, you can do so with translation overrides under the Languages tab of the HikaShop configuration:
www.hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify

No this is not workeng either. I don't need to translate. I need to write myself the message in the email. So I need acces to the file itself so i can write myself a text in that file or mail so it can be send. If ever possible.

This is indeed very possible. And as you see hikashop sends an email here ...

5.I checked the situation on your website checkout with PayPal and I found that you have this issue:

Supposing that the buttons are displayed, if you click on the "PayPal" button and you don't get the PayPal payment popup, or you get a blank popup on top of the normal popup, it's likely you have a problem with the Cross Origin Opener Policy of your website. www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/4...out-form.html#issues
So follow this and it should help.

I understand nothing about what you are talking about here. So i tryed something else.
As you can see I used this plugin but i am not sure i used the right one.

Then i did some configuration. First i tryed the link, pointed with arrow but this didnt work even when paypal said it worked. Then i looked up the id's and filled in the info. Marked with a cross. So this worked.

So this seemed to work. But then paypal rederects me and i get 2 icon's for payment with PP or creditcard. Is this normal? Should i not just receive the icon for paypal as this is what i want to pay with? I do not wish the option for creditcard.

When i choose paypal i get this screen.

This is strange as it serves nothing. What can i do about it? Because when i close it i get this.

It would be nice to have this screen immidiately. Is there something i can do for this?

So bottom line, i still don't have acces to the emails; i cannot let hikashop send them; i am not sure if i use the good plugin for paypal as i see there are more plugins for paypal but no explanation wich one to use.

Thanks for your time

Greetings

Hi,

Let me address each point:

1. HikaShop emails not being sent

HikaShop emails are configured under System > E-mails (which I can see you found in your first screenshot). Each email in that list corresponds to a specific event (order confirmation, order status change, etc.).

For emails to be sent when an order is created, the order status notification email needs to be published (green checkmark). Please check that the emails numbered 1 and 2 in the list ("Order notification" and "Order admin notification" or similar) are published.

If you want to test, place a test order with the bank transfer payment method. After the order is created, check if an email was sent. You can also check the email log in Customers > Emails history. There, you'll see all the emails sent by HikaShop.

2. Removing the credit card option from PayPal

In your PayPal Checkout payment method settings, scroll down to the "Accept credit card payments" setting (visible at the bottom of your third screenshot) and set it to "No". Save the payment method. This will remove the credit card form from the checkout page and only show the PayPal and Bancontact buttons.

3. The blank white popup when clicking PayPal

This is caused by a browser security policy called Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy. To fix it:
1. Go to your Joomla backend, then Extensions > Plugins
2. Search for "HTTP Headers"
3. Open the "System - HTTP Headers" plugin
4. Go to its "Plugin" tab
5. Find the "Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy" setting
6. Change it to "same-origin-allow-popups"
7. Save

After this change, the PayPal popup should open directly with the PayPal login page instead of showing a blank popup first.

4. Customizing email content

The full customization of emails via the System>Emails menu is only available with the Business edition of HikaShop. I can see that you're using the Starter edition. In that case, only changing the text (you can add your own text too that way, but you can't change the layout of the email) is possible with translation overrides, as I was saying in my previous message.

5. Which PayPal plugin to use

You are using the correct plugin: "PayPal Checkout". This is the current and recommended PayPal integration. The other PayPal plugins (PayPal Express, PayPal, etc.) are older versions that are still available for backward compatibility but should not be used for new installations.

Hi Nicolas,

For some reason this mail escaped me. So I will do it point by point.

1. Yes I found this list and I understand what it does. The two to be checked are checked. I did your test but no email has been send. To nobody. Not to administrator nor client.

2. I think you mean here at the bottom where it says "nee" now?

When I do a test I receive this:

The possibility to enter credtcard is gone but still I do have besides the PP button also 2 others. Can I get rid of those and if so how?

3. The blank white popup when clicking PayPal
I think it's resolved but I am not sure. I need to log out but it is not working to log out. And when I do it says I have to log out because I logged in with user account. So maybe if you can try with your account I think it will be ok.

4. I see. So if I take tha payed version it is for a year. What happens after that year? Does the costumized version stays or does it go back to standard?

5. Ok I understand.

6. It seems for some reason Hikashop is connected with AcyMailing? Is this possible? Because in the backend I receive subscribtion in AcyMailing when new client makes account in Hikashop.....

7. New question. Regarding sending fee. Now it is fixed fee on f.e. 10. But can I make it depend on the weght at the end of the bill? Because paying twice a fee for 2 products is not right. Or did I oversee an option?

Many thanks

Hi,

1. Did you check the Email history of HikaShop ? Do you see the emails there ? I don't see a reason why the emails wouldn't be in the history unless you disabled them or you customized them in an invalid manner. It's likely they are there but the email server discards them because some option in the Emails section of the HikaShop configuration is not configured according to your hosting recommendations:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/5...fig.html#main_emails
I can recall several users with a similar issue with a wrongly configured bounce email address for example.

2. Yes, that's what I meant.
The two others beside the PayPal button can be deactivated with the "Disable Funding" setting:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/4...form.html#additional

3. Yes, it's ok.

4. The customization stays. In fact, you can keep using the Business edition and further customize the emails after that year. Your installed version of HikaShop is fully functional forever, even if we close shop tomorrow.
What you lose after that 1 year subscription if you don't renew it is access to updates and our support for it.
I would of course recommend you renew it and keep your HikaShop up to date, but that's not mandatory.

6. Well, AcyMailing has an integration with HikaShop built in. Also, when someone registers via HikaShop, a real Joomla user account is created and AcyMailing can automatically pick up on it the same way it does when someone registers via Joomla without any specific integration necessary.

7. You sure can by using the {weight} tag in the formula setting of your shipping method:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/3...ing-manual-form.html

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for the quick respons. We are almost there.

1. I figured out what happened. I didn't check the spam box!! So I found the emails there. I did forget to check the mail history in Hikashop the other time and yes the history is there. Can I do something to prevend the mails to be send to spam box?

But now Unfortunately I did more tests again but this time no email in inbox nor spam box.

As you can see I did some tests, I got the mail in the history, but not send. I didn't change anything. This seems to be a new problem now.

2. Everything in both lists is unchecked. I think you mean here:

As you can see everything is unchecked. Is this the right way? Because I still have more then one option after I choose PP

7. Ok thanks I could install this.

8. New problem regarding stars and review. I made a test review on a product. The strange thing is on the site the date and hour is different from backend. The time stamp on the backend is the right one. But why another timestamp on the site?

9. How can I remove the number in the url? The one with the red circle. If this is possible

Hello,

Regarding your different questions:

1.
The email history shows the emails as sent, which means HikaShop and Joomla processed them correctly. The delivery issue is on the server/hosting side. To diagnose the problem, you can use the free tool at www.mail-tester.com/ - it will give you a temporary email address to send a test email to, and then show you a detailed report of what might be causing deliverability issues (SPF, DKIM, blacklists, etc.).

2.
The "Disable Funding" checkboxes work the opposite of what you might expect. You need to CHECK the payment methods you want to HIDE. Since all your checkboxes are unchecked, no funding source is disabled, which is why they all appear. Check the ones you want to remove (e.g. Bancontact, iDEAL, SEPA, etc.) and save.

8.
This is likely a timezone issue on the user account. The user who posted the review may have a different timezone set in their Joomla user profile than the server timezone. You can check the user's timezone in Users > Manage > edit the user > Basic Settings tab.

9.
Go to System > HikaShop > Configuration > Features tab > SEF URL Options section, and enable the "Remove products and categories id in URLs" option. After enabling it, make sure your product aliases are unique since they will be used instead of the ID to identify products.

1. I did so by sending an email with my gmail account and it scored 8.6/10 which is pretty good. I cannot do this with hikashop because I will need a confirmation and that will not be possible. But would you be so kind as to make an order and see if you receive a mail? Maybe I don't receive one due to my super user account? I still wonder why it worked before but fails now.

2. I checked them all and now it is ok.

8. This is strange as I was doing this as a test. But it is not that important. It just caught my eye.

9. Done and ok.

Hi,

I just did a test on your website and I did receive the email. But it ended up in my spam folder.

Note however that you configured your website to send its emails with your gmail email address as sender. However, the email is sent by your website (your hosting), not Gmail, and that can be seen in the metadata of the email. So it gets automatically flagged as spam.
You should configure your website to send the emails with an email address of your domain name, and configure your DNS record with the email server of your hosting as sender. Normally, your hosting should be able to set this up for you or guide you with this.

Well in that case the email problem is solved.

I don't really understand what you mean with the DNS thing and spam. So I contact my host? And ask what exactly?

You think its better to send from email by the hosting? Or can I say that it comes from another email? Maybe that is easyer to do. I just don't know how

Hi,

Well, normally, you want to configure an email address with your domain name and send from that email address.
You want to contact your hosting to see what they recommend for your website email sending. That's the first step. They should be able to tell you.
