Show variants in product list

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.0

This may sound very basic question to average HikaShop user.

It is the first time I'm trying to work with variants and I have a basic question.

Can I build a menu Products listing that lists variants instead of products? So it shows each product version in the list without needing to enter the product view?

exaclty as if it was the HikaMarket Product Listing with the Variants filter activated.

UPDATE:

As I read many similar posts I want to clarify something:

I don't want to see a product in the list with all the variant dropdowns and so, for this there is simply the product view.

I want to see all varaints like HikaMarket does when you select Variants from the right list in Product List menu

Hi,

There is no setting to do that.
But there are two alternatives:
- If you want variants to be displayed as products, why use variants and not full fledged products in that case ? Your product could be a category and the variants in it, could be products in that category. Wouldn't that be more adapted to your needs ?
- If you set the "characteristics display method" setting of the HikaShop configuration to "list", you'll see the variants displayed in a table on the product page like on HikaMarket's interface.

I too would like to be able to do this.

The reason I would not set each variant as a product, is that I still would like to go into the product and see the other variant options.

As an example, a dress that is available in different colours. I would like the listing to show all colours and also be able to see the other colours once your enter the product page. Otherwise there is a lot of work linking products together.

Can this be achieved by amending the product listing views?

Hi,

Amending the product listing views won't help because the modifications have to be done to the MySQL query loading the products in the view.html.php
But you'll get many problems as the system isn't meant to work like that.
So for example, the filters won't work properly with the variants. Custom fields as well. Etc.
That's why I said it's not possible because it will require complex modifications to have it work properly and you'll need an expert developer to do that. But intrinsically, anything is possible with enough code modifications and time.
