-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.6
-- PHP version -- : 3.4.8

Hello,

Having trouble with a couple things.

Firstly, the shop is running 2.6.0 and whenever I try to upgrade to 2.6.1, all of my products cease to display on the front end in the category listings. Tried updating from the Joomla installer and via FTP and both render the same result. Have had to restore the site 4 or 5 times.

Next, I having difficulty with some of the category listing pages displaying more than 12 products per page, even though there are more than 12 products in that category. There also isn't an option/link to display more or go to the next page of products within that category. Tried changing the number of columns and rows in the "item" section of the menu options, but nothing changes. I don't know if you got rid of the "Advanced" option in the category menu items in the current hikashop version, but that section used to have those options.

Lastly, been trying to sort and display the products in alphabetical order on the category listings. I've tried changing the "ordering field" in the data display options to "product_name" to no avail.

Thanks for your time and help!

Cheers

Hi,

1. The problem is probably with the template override of the categories listing. Try renaming the folder templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop and see if that helps to display the products after the update. If it does, it means that the problem comes from one of the view file overrides in the template.
Otherwise, it could be something linked to the settings of the menu item.

2. When you go in the "products options" tab when you're editing your menu item via the Joomla menu manager, you'll get a number of rows and columns you can select for the listing. Here is a tutorial about the new menu item system:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/3...splay-front-end.html
Also, make sure that you have the "pagination" setting turned on in the Hikashop configuration.

3. Well, that's what will do it. So you must be editing the wrong menu item or something like that.

Nicholas,

Thanks for the reply and instructions. Unfortunately there are still some issues.

1) Changing the folder name after upgrading the hikashop version allowed for the products to display again. The problem now is that the products and category displays do not have any of the styling characteristics they originally had before the update. Wondering if there is a way to revert the product displays back to their styles associated with the template.

2) Still not able to get some categories to display all of their products or create additional page links. Changing the number of columns and rows has no bearing on how the products are being displayed on the front end. Pagination is turned on. Since the update to HikaShop 2.6.1 all category listings are displaying in one singular column, where as before they were three columns wide.

3) Every single menu item is changed to reflect that products be displayed in alphabetical order. None of the category listings reflect this on the front end. It is not a matter of editing the wrong menu item.

If there is no way to bring back the original template styling to the product pages and category listings, I am going to restore the site again with the previous Hika version. As for the product ordering and displaying all of the products, it is possible to hire your support team to go in a fix it? I feel like we are wasting more time going back and forth on this form, where this would be a pretty simple fix for you or team. If this is not a service you provide, if you have any developers you could recommend for this, that would be most helpful.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Cheers

Hi,

1. Instead of renaming the whole folder, try renaming the files inside it one by one and test each time if it fixes the problem. Once you find the file with the problem, you can either keep it renamed if it works like that, or ask your template provider to port the styling in that file to the new version of that file that is in new versions of HikaShop.

2. The listings not displayed on several columns usually come from the template not supporting bootstrap 2 while the "use bootstrap design" of the HikaShop configuration is activated. So try turning off that option.

3. I don't know about the rest. I can't check your website as it is in maintenance so hard to say anything more. If you want to avoid the back and forth, the best is to directly provide the error messages, screenshots of the corresponding settings, screenshots of the issues, and link to the pages so that we can reproduce the problem and understand what's wrong. A backend access could also help so that we can check the settings directly in the backend.

Thanks again for the quick response.

1) I will go through those folders one by one right now and try and narrow down the issue.

2) Switching off bootstrap made the products display in the rows to reflect what is set on the menu item. Products still wont display in alphabetical order though.

3) What is the best way to send you login credentials? Thought there was a way to make a reply on the form private. How can I direct a private message to you?

Thanks!

Renaming the "category" folder, triggers the product displays, but now there isn't any product info on the individual product pages.

Hi,

2. The ordering of the products on the listin can be changed with the ordering column and ordering direction settings under the "products options" tab of your menu item when you edit it via the Joomla menu manager.

3. You can use our contact form with a link to the thread:
www.hikashop.com/support/contact-us.html

4. If there is a problem on the product page, it means that there is also a problem with one or more files of the folder templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product/
