-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.2

I have a menuitem SALE

When I add discount to a category I can't add that category ALSO to the Categroy sale because You can only choose one category. With an individual product you can add 2 categories to that product.

How can I (temporary) add the category that;s on sale also on the SALE category so my menu is as follows:

SALE
CATEGORY 1
CATEGORY 2
CATEGORY 2a
CATEGORY 2b
CATEGORY 3
CATEGORY 4

So ALL items in category 2B also need to be(temporary) be visual ALSO in category SALE. I can't figure it out.

Hi,

Why not create a mass action via the menu System>Mass actions with a filter on the category 2b and an action to add the products to the SALE category.
You can then create a second mass action to remove the products from the SALE category when you don't want them in there later on.

Hi Nicolas,

That's not what I want. I want the SALE items to be visible in SALE menuitem and ALSO on their original Category.

Should be nice if theres an option with SALE categorie and everything with DISCOUNTS will (optional) also be visible there. Or you can add multiple categories to a menuitem.

I saw I can COPY products. Should I copy products to SALE and later after the sale delete them there?

Hi,

It seems you didn't understand what I said.
With the mass action I proposed, the products would be in both the sale category AND the category2b.
So it seems to be what you want.
You could copy the products, but a mass action should be way easier to manage than doing copies and deleting them.

Hi Nicolas,

I will check your mass action solution, maybe I didn't understand you right.
However I'm the SuperUser on this client account. I can do (and are able) to do anything I want on the site so that's not the problem. (Working with Joomla since 2005. I mainly focus on building sites and templates an hosting and support for my clients.)

  • What would be awesome, because the clients are using their websites and in general they are N00bs, if a discount is given to a product and/or catgory (sale) it would automatically be displayed also in a menuitem sales.

Maybe I did not make myself clear enough, I'm not native English, but in general that's what I would prefer so clients are less depended off me.

Hi,

We're working on adding an option to products listing to be able to display only discounted products. So that would be something you could use for that. It should be in the next version of HikaShop.

Hi Nicolas,

You will make me (and I pressume many others) very very happy with that. Seems a logical setting for a webshop owner.
Do you maybe have an indication in time when this will be available? So I can communicate that with my client.

But very happy to hear your working on this. B)
