More flexibility on restricting custom fields?

Hi,

hoping you can help me. I have a bunch of custom fields that apply to all products in a category except a few.

In the restrictions of the custom field I can set a whole category, but that's no good because it will include the products that it doesn't apply to.

As a consequence I'm having to add each individual product within that category (apart from the ones that don't apply) and then as I add a new product I have to go into each custom field and add that product.

What would be great is an IS and an IS NOT area so I can say IS "Category 1" and IS NOT "Specific products within category 1".

Is there a plugin that you know of that I can do this with?

Thanks

Daniel

Hello,

If you want to apply your custom field on a bunch of products ; the best is to create a special (unpublished) category outside of your general category tree.
Thanks to that, you can activate or deactivate the fields depending that category ; and via the "mass action", you can easily add category to existing products (add or remove a category for every products in specific categories).

So obvious I missed it. Would still love some more advanced restrictions in the future as this solution won't work for more elaborate setups - fine for mine at the moment though.

Thanks very much.
