Hello,

Is there a plugin that allows revenue created through Hikashop to be passed through to GA4.

I found this article here: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/9...oogle-analytics.html that says there is a Hikashop plugin for Google Analytics, but I can't see it on the extensions page.

Is it no longer available?

Are there any alternatives?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

D

Hi Nicolas,

I've downloaded and installed and added the measurement ID.

It says it's features are:

Add Google Analytics on all the pages of your website.
Track the HikaShop categories looked at on the website
Track the HikaShop products looked at on the website
Track HikaShop carts and their modifications
Send order data to Google Analytics when the customer access the thank you page, after the payment.

Is this all done through Analytics - sorry, if this is an obvious question. I'm not a specialist in Analytics - can you point me in the right direction as to where I will find the above information/settings.

Thanks again.

Hi,

First, please need note that you also need to enable the plugin and provide the API secret in the corresponding setting of the plugin. Otherwise, if both of these are not done, the plugin won't do anything on your website.

Now, I don't understand your last sentences:

Is this all done through Analytics - sorry, if this is an obvious question. I'm not a specialist in Analytics - can you point me in the right direction as to where I will find the above information/settings.

What does "Is this all done through Analytics" mean ? Are you asking if the plugin sends the data to GA ? If so, the answer is of course yes. Or are you asking if the plugin needs GA to be reachable to be able to send the data to GA ? If so, the answer is also yes. Or are you asking something else ?
Also, I don't understand what information/setting you're looking for with "can you point me in the right direction as to where I will find the above information/settings" ?
Are you talking about the settings of the plugin ? If you've entered the measurement Id, I can only suppose you've done this in the settings of the plugin and thus you've already found that setting page.
Are you saying that you're wondring if you need to setup something in your GA account ? If so, the answer is no.
Or are you asking where to find the API secret ? In that case, here is a tutorial about this: www.monsterinsights.com/docs/how-to-crea...l-api-secret-in-ga4/
Or maybe something else ?

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for your answer. We're all good now.

I didn't realise if I rolled over the field labels it showed me what to do. My suggestion is that you include the measurement id and api instructions on the page about the plugin. Sometimes it's not immediately obvious that you should roll over field labels to get instructions especially when you're doing something for the first time - I'm not criticising, as i think you do a great job, just that I think if you want to prevent being asked the same question again then it would be a good thing to do.

Anyway, thanks again, your help is always appreciated.

KInd Regards

Hi,

It's Joomla which manages how the instruction of the options are being displayed for plugins and modules.
We don't have the control on that.
On Joomla 4, you'll see they changed it so that you have to click a button at the top of the edit screen to display the instructions.

No I understand.

What I mean is put the instructions about how to get the measurement ID and API instructions on your page about the plugin here: www.hikashop.com/marketplace/product/108...egration-google.html

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. I don't think the details instructions have their place on this page. I think what could be good is a proper documentation page and a big link from the marketplace page to that documentation page, like we already have for other plugins.
For now, I'll add some text there to explain about the inline instructions on the settings page.
